Most night shifts in care feel isolating, exhausting and disconnected from real impact. This waking nights role at a residential family assessment centre is different: you'll work alongside parents and their children during the hours that matter most, building genuine relationships that create lasting change while being properly supported by a qualified team and paid to match

Imagine clocking in for your 2 waking night shifts each week knowing exactly who you're supporting and why. You're not just keeping watch: you're part of a centre where families come to learn, recover and rebuild. Parents and their babies trust you to be present, calm and genuinely invested in their journey. That kind of work stays with you

The team here takes development seriously. You'll get a full induction, specialist training fully funded by the service, and a clear pathway to externally accredited qualifications that genuinely boost your CV and your earning power. After induction, your hourly rate reflects both what you learn and what you bring. That's not lip service: it's built into the pay scales

You're never left to figure it out alone. A Centre Manager and a qualified, experienced team oversee everything. You'll complete initial family assessments, create action plans that actually work, and be the steady presence that helps parents and children move from crisis to stability. That's meaningful work with structure, support and real career progression behind it

What you will be doing

  • Provide practical support and advice to parents and their children during waking night and day shifts, helping them achieve their desired outcomes
  • Complete initial assessments of each family's needs and develop action plans that guide their progress through the programme
  • Be a consistent, positive role model who builds trusting relationships and creates the conditions for recovery, growth and lasting change
  • Work as part of a qualified and experienced team, coordinating with the Centre Manager and other colleagues to ensure continuity of care and support

Why you will love working here

  • Paid at the Real Living Wage minimum (£14.55 - £15.15 per hour) with enhanced pay scales that recognise your qualifications and experience as you develop
  • Fully funded training and specialist qualifications to build your skills and boost your career prospects, with no cost to you
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata), enhanced maternity and paternity pay, life assurance and a genuine employee benefits programme
  • NEST Pension Scheme from day one, full induction, and a supportive team that actually invests in your professional development and wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS check paid for by us, so you can start confidently and completely

Is this you?

  • Are you naturally caring, flexible and resilient? The families here need someone who genuinely shows up for them
  • Do you work well as part of a team with professional boundaries? You'll be part of a experienced group overseen by a Centre Manager, and that teamwork is everything
  • Are you organised and good with IT? You'll manage assessments, action plans and day-to-day admin that keeps the centre running smoothly
  • Can you work shifts flexibly, including waking nights? This role is 25 hours per week across 2 night shifts, and you need to be genuinely comfortable with that pattern
