Most night shifts in care feel isolating and repetitive, but this one isn't. You'll be working in a supported living service where the young people you support are building real independence, learning life skills, and genuinely changing their futures. This is waking night work that actually matters, in a home where your presence makes a tangible difference every single shift
Picture this: it's 11pm and you're settling into your sleep-in shift. The house is calm. Your role is to be there - present, attentive, responsive - whilst the people you support rest. You're the safety net they can rely on. Then at 7.30am, you're back on support shift, helping with breakfast routines, chatting over tea, perhaps helping someone plan their day. That's the rhythm of this role: quiet presence through the night, active support at both ends of the day
Roberts Street is a shared house for people learning to live independently. Unlike a traditional residential home, there's genuine space for people to develop real life skills - managing their own property, making choices, building confidence. Your job is to empower that. You're supporting leisure activities, helping people engage with their community, celebrating their wins. Every shift, you see progress
