You'll work waking nights on a 4 on, 4 off pattern - proper time to actually recover and live your life, not a relentless grind. The young people here have social, emotional and mental health needs, and they're learning what it means to have stability and someone who shows up for them. In the quieter hours, you'll handle the practical side - paperwork, cleaning, laundry - but the real work happens when a young person needs you
The home invests properly in its team. You get a full 4-week induction through their Care Academy, delivered by experienced professionals who actually know what they're doing. If you don't already hold a Level 3 Diploma, they'll pay for you to get one and support you every step. What you will be doing
- Provide trauma-informed support to young people through the night - being present during crisis moments, emotional distress, illness or sleep difficulties
- Build genuine relationships and trust with the young people in your care, understanding their individual needs and personalities
- Handle domestic tasks around the home - paperwork, cleaning, laundry - keeping the environment safe and well-maintained during waking nights
- Work as part of a team, communicating handovers and updates so continuity of care is seamless across shifts
