This home works with children whose lives have been complicated by trauma, complex needs, and the weight of things no young person should carry. Your role is to be steady in the dark, to hold their space, to advocate fiercely for their rights, and to help them end their day feeling loved and safe. When a child is in pain or struggling, your presence changes everything
You'll join a team that means what they say about development. Within 2 years you'll complete your Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner qualification - proper training, proper progression. You'll attend all the training you need, on schedule, with support. The home runs on quality standards that actually guide how you work, and your records matter because they tell the real story of who these children are and what they need
What you will be doing
- Support children through night-time routines, story time, and settling - creating moments of calm and connection before sleep
- Complete the practical work of the home at night: cooking, cleaning, washing, and preparing what's needed for the following day
- Respond with resilience and skill when children face physical or emotional difficulty, behaviour that challenges, or communication struggles
- Keep detailed, timely records of what happens each night and what each child needs, using the home's reporting systems
- Contribute to each child's care plan and flag any safeguarding concerns to the senior team as they happen
- Advocate for the children's rights and wellbeing at all times, building strong relationships with them and the people in their lives
