Most night shifts feel like you're working alone in the dark, doing a job nobody really sees. But waking nights in residential care are different - you're building real relationships with young people who need you, supporting them through the hours when consistency and a calm presence matter most. This is the role where your reliability and compassion actually change someone's week
Picture a waking night where you're there from the moment the young people wake until they're settled again - helping with breakfast, supporting them through their morning routine, being the steady person they can count on. You're not just going through shifts; you're part of their daily life, the person they know will show up and listen. Every night you're building trust, spotting what matters to them, and helping them feel safe
The team here works differently. You're not isolated on nights - you're part of a supportive community that actually values the people who do this work. There's real communication between day and night staff, clear handovers, and people who understand that waking nights takes skill and heart. Your contribution is noticed, your wellbeing matters, and there's genuine space for you to grow
You'll get full training from day one, whether you're brand new to care or bringing experience. There are clear progression pathways, ongoing development opportunities, and a workplace that actively celebrates what you achieve. This is a home that invests in its staff because it knows that young people thrive when the adults around them are supported, valued, and growing
