Most therapy roles in specialist education feel isolating: you're one clinician in a sea of non-clinical staff, your expertise underused, your impact diluted. This is different. You'll join a multidisciplinary clinical team where your skills genuinely shape how children with complex trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions and learning needs experience their entire day - not just in therapy sessions, but in every interaction, every meal, every moment of living and learning
Picture this: a child who's been dysregulated all morning finds their way into the Sensory Integration room you've designed. Twenty minutes later, they're calm, focused, ready to learn. That's the work. You'll have a dedicated SI space with proper resources, whether you're already trained or building those skills from scratch. Your clinical formulation doesn't stay in your notes - it spreads through the whole team, so every adult around that child knows how to help them regulate, engage and thrive
You're not alone in this. You'll work alongside a 220-plus multidisciplinary team across specialist schools and children's homes, all grounded in the same clinical approach. Supervision, a proper clinical development programme, and colleagues who understand the weight of this work - they're all built in. The home celebrates the small victories because they know that's where real change lives
The salary reflects the value of what you do: £37,602 to £45,426 including paid school holidays, plus flexible benefits you can shape to suit your life - life insurance, medical cover for opticians and dentist appointments, high-street discounts, employee assistance, and proper wellbeing support. This isn't a job that exhausts you and leaves you with nothing left
