You won't be a lone therapist writing reports into a void. You're part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team of 220+ professionals across our schools and children's homes. You'll have regular clinical supervision, access to a leading professional development programme, and colleagues who genuinely get the complexity of the work. The young people here present with developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs - and you'll be assessing, formulating, intervening and building the therapeutic relationships that unlock real change
This is a 3-days-per-week role based at the school, which means genuine flexibility to manage your own wellbeing and professional commitments outside these walls. You'll work full school holidays - paid - so you actually get time to step back and recharge. What you will be doing
- Assess young people's mental health and formulate individualised therapeutic plans based on clinical assessment and their lived experience
- Deliver counselling and therapeutic interventions tailored to each young person's needs, building the rapport that makes real change possible
- Support educational and residential colleagues to create therapeutic living and learning environments by sharing your clinical expertise and recommendations
- Track and communicate progress to the wider team, adjusting your approach based on what's actually working for each young person
- Contribute to the multi-disciplinary clinical culture, bringing your thinking to team discussions and learning from colleagues across the service

Is this you?
- You're a qualified professional with accreditation as a counsellor (BACP membership or similar professional body) - or you hold additional mental health and therapeutic intervention qualifications that demonstrate your clinical expertise
- You genuinely understand child development and have a gift for connecting with young people, especially those who've experienced trauma or whose behaviour might push others away
- You're highly organised, able to take initiative, and comfortable working as part of a clinical team while managing your own caseload
- Honesty and empathy aren't just words to you - they're how you show up every day, with young people and with colleagues
