Most team leader roles in residential care feel like box-ticking exercises where you're drowning in paperwork and politics. This one is different. You'll step into a genuine leadership position where your kindness and vision directly shape how a committed team supports some of the most vulnerable young people in your community, and where the provider is serious about your professional growth

Picture this: you walk in each shift knowing exactly what you're leading towards. You've got a team of support workers who care, genuinely care, and they're looking to you to show them how it's done. You're not just managing rotas and complaints you're modelling what compassionate leadership looks like in real time. The young people feel it. The staff feel it. That's the difference between a job and a calling

The home operates with a clear mission: high-quality support delivered consistently. You'll work closely with the Deputy Manager, learning how the bigger picture operates while having real authority over your team's daily practice. This isn't a token role. You'll be trusted to supervise, develop and hold your team accountable because that's what protection and consistency demand

And here's what matters most: the provider backs up their commitment to you. They want you to either bring a Diploma level 3 qualification to the table or they'll support you to earn it on the job. That's investment. That's belief. That's the kind of workplace where you can genuinely build a career, not just clock in

What you will be doing

  • Oversee and directly supervise a team of support workers, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality care aligned with the home's standards and safeguarding requirements
  • Work alongside the Deputy Manager to plan, coordinate and evaluate the support provided to young people, adapting approaches as needs change
  • Lead by example, modelling the kindness and compassion that sets the tone for how young people are treated every single day
  • Support your team through difficult moments, provide constructive feedback, and help them grow in their roles through regular supervision and development conversations
  • Contribute to daily life at the home, stepping in to support young people and workers when needed, not just managing from the sidelines

Why you will love working here

  • Full-time contract starting as soon as possible, giving you stable, predictable work
  • £13.50 per hour for a role where you're not just earning, you're leading
  • Support to complete or work towards your Diploma level 3 if you don't already hold it, backed by a provider who believes in your growth
  • A committed team of support workers who respect good leadership and a Deputy Manager who'll have your back as you step up into the role

Is this you?

  • You already hold a Diploma level 3 qualification (or are actively working towards one) and understand what genuine safeguarding practice looks like in residential care
  • You've got real experience supporting young people in a care setting and you've seen what good team leadership actually achieves
  • You're naturally kind and compassionate, but you're also able to make tough decisions and hold boundaries when it matters
  • You communicate clearly, listen well, and genuinely want to develop the people you work with rather than just manage them
