Most care jobs feel like you're treading water: same shifts, same pay ceiling, no real way forward. This is different. We're looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker who's ready to step up, lead from the front, and actually progress into management - because we've built a real ladder and we promote from within
You'll be part of a growing, supportive team running a residential home where young people get the safe, therapeutic care they deserve. Your leadership will matter - you'll work alongside other professionals, guided by a registered manager, setting the standard for how care is delivered. No box-ticking; real impact on real kids' lives
Here's what makes us different: we invest in our people. You'll get paid training and fully funded qualifications (QCFs) that open doors - not just here, but across the whole sector. Many of our regional and service managers started exactly where you are now. We're genuinely committed to helping you climb that ladder
You'll have a voice in how the service develops. Regular team meetings mean your ideas actually get heard and acted on. Supportive management, proper supervisions, and an Employee Assistance Programme that has your back. Free meals during your shift. 28 days' annual leave. A pension scheme that builds your future. This isn't just a job - it's a place where you can grow
What you will be doing
- Deliver outstanding therapeutic care and support to young people in the residential home, helping them lead happy and fulfilling lives
- Lead and supervise the support team, setting the standard for care quality and ensuring young people thrive
- Work alongside other professionals and the registered manager to tailor care to each young person's individual needs
- Contribute to team meetings and help shape how the service develops, making sure your experience and ideas are valued
- Model best practice and help other team members level up their skills through mentoring and support
Why you will love working here
- Competitive salary of £15.25 - £15.85 per hour, plus an additional £3,000-£8,000 per year from sleep-in shifts - real money for real work
- Fully funded and paid training in QCFs that boost your pay and open progression routes into management; many of our managers started as support workers
- 28 days' annual leave (including Bank Holidays), enhanced maternity and paternity pay, free meals during shifts, and a NEST pension scheme
- Full induction programme, regular supervisions and appraisals, and an Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing - plus a £500 staff referral bonus if you bring a friend
- We cover the cost of your enhanced DBS check and actively support Armed Forces veterans (guaranteed interview if you've served)
Is this you?
- You've got at least 12 months of hands-on experience in children's residential care - you know what works
- You hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People (or you're ready to work towards one with our support)
- You have a full UK Driving Licence
- You're ready to step into a senior role - someone who can lead calmly, support others, and model the care standards you believe in
Applications close on 12 October 2026. Great roles like this are filled quickly, so the sooner you apply the better.
Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
