Most care roles ask you to do brilliant work but treat you like you're invisible. This one is different: you'll lead a small, tight team of Support Workers at a newly opened 8-bed home, mentor junior staff, and actually shape how young people with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD get the best chance at independence. If you've got at least 2 years' experience in this work and you're ready to step up, this is the role that will let you

Picture this: you arrive at a home where 8 young residents are building real lives. Your job is to help them do it. You'll work days, nights, weekends and holidays across a rota that fits proper life balance, leading from the front as senior staff. You're not just delivering care plans - you're developing them, mentoring the team who carries them out, and being the advocate who says 'this young person needs this' and actually makes it happen

The home is part of a well-established group that's been running care services nationally since 1999 - they know how to do this well. They've given this new 8-bed home space to grow properly, which means you're not drowning in admin or understaffed crises. You'll have time to mentor your Support Workers, ensure person-centred care actually happens, and maintain the safeguarding standards that keep everyone safe

This is where your NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and your real knowledge of learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD actually counts. You'll administer medication, hold key worker responsibilities, keep records that matter, and work closely with residents on life skills and community participation. You'll be the role model, the person junior staff look to, and the voice residents trust

What you will be doing

  • Lead and mentor a team of Support Workers, setting the tone for high-quality, person-centred care across the home
  • Develop and implement personalised care plans that help residents build independence and achieve their goals
  • Administer medication safely, maintain accurate records, and carry out key worker duties
  • Promote safeguarding, ensure CQC compliance, and champion a safe, inclusive environment where every resident thrives
  • Support residents with life skills, activities and community participation, and be their advocate within the team

Why you will love working here

  • £14.50 per hour, because experience and leadership matter
  • Professional development support so you can grow in this role
  • Employee of the Month recognition and long-term service awards that show the home values loyalty
  • Blue Light Card discount as an extra thank you
  • A Refer a Friend scheme if you know other great people who should join the team

Is this you?

  • Are you an experienced care worker with at least 2 years' similar role under your belt, ideally with learning disabilities, Autism or ADHD?
  • Do you hold NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification?
  • Can you communicate with residents, families and staff with real warmth and clarity, and lead by example?
  • Do you genuinely understand safeguarding, person-centred care and what it takes to meet CQC standards?
  • Are you flexible enough to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as part of the rota?
