Most care roles leave you exhausted, under-supported and wondering if you're making a real difference. This isn't one of them. We're looking for an experienced carer who's ready to step up into a leadership position at a warm, spacious nursing home where your expertise will shape how a whole team delivers person-centred care to older adults who need you

Picture yourself arriving at a home that actually feels like one: comfortable, welcoming, with enough space and staffing to do things properly. Your day involves real hands-on care, yes, but also mentoring junior and new staff members, watching them grow in confidence under your guidance, and knowing that the standards you set ripple through everything the home does. That's the difference a strong senior makes

You'll be supporting residents with all aspects of daily living, responding to call bells promptly, liaising with GPs and support managers, and ensuring that medication, toileting, bathing and personal care happen with genuine dignity. You'll also be the keyworker documentation champion, keeping records tight and changeovers seamless. It's skilled, varied work that demands your attention and rewards it with real autonomy

This provider genuinely invests in their team. You'll get professional development opportunities, an Employee Assistance Programme to support your own wellbeing, and recognition schemes including Employee of the Month and long-term service awards. They also offer salary advance through ESAS and perks through Perkbox. This isn't just a job; it's a workplace that values you staying and growing

What you will be doing

  • Support and assist residents with all aspects of daily living, maintaining the highest standards of personal and psychological care
  • Train, supervise and mentor junior and new staff members in their daily work, helping them develop skills and confidence under senior oversight
  • Respond to the nurse call system promptly, answer the door and telephone professionally, and relay messages accurately
  • Report on resident wellbeing to GPs and support managers, and carry out regular welfare checks at intervals set by senior staff
  • Arrange and deliver care rotas that meet individual resident needs, including medications, toileting and bathing
  • Complete and maintain changeover and keyworker documentation to a high standard, meeting all agreed timeframes

Why you will love working here

  • £13.80 per hour with the option of salary advance through ESAS when you need it
  • Professional development support to build your skills as a carer and leader
  • Recognition schemes including Employee of the Month, long-term service awards, and Blue Light Card discounts
  • Employee Assistance Programme to look after your own wellbeing, plus Perkbox benefits
  • The genuine satisfaction of mentoring new staff and shaping a team culture rooted in compassion and excellence

Is this you?

  • Are you an experienced carer with a genuine track record in hands-on residential or nursing care?
  • Do you have the confidence to step into a mentoring and training role, supporting less experienced staff to get better?
  • Can you balance person-centred compassion with meticulous record-keeping and attention to detail?
  • Are you responsive, reliable and genuinely warm with older adults who need support with intimate daily living?
  • Do you share our values: being responsive to individual needs, creating a healthy and safe environment, and building the best team through training and self-development?
