Most care homes talk about being person-centred, but struggle to actually live it. This one doesn't. An Outstanding-rated home in Redbridge with real resources, real training, and real respect for its staff is looking for an experienced Team Leader who can lift a team and make that difference every single day
You'll be leading care in a home that's genuinely built for quality of life. Studio-style rooms, a working Manor Tavern, proper communal spaces, and gardens that residents actually use - this isn't corporate care, it's a lifestyle. Your job is to make sure every resident feels that warmth, and every junior member of your team understands why that matters
This is where you grow as a leader. You'll be training and supervising new and junior staff, shaping how they approach care from day one. You'll have the space to develop them properly, because the home invests in people - not just because it's policy, but because it works. You'll be handling keyworker documentation, arranging rotas that actually fit individual needs, and building a team that people want to work in
The home's Outstanding CQC rating and Top 20 award didn't happen by accident. They happened because people like you showed up, cared about the details, and lifted everyone around them. That's the culture you'll be part of, and part of building
What you will be doing
- Support and assist residents with all aspects of daily living, from personal care to medications, with responsiveness and real compassion for individual needs
- Train, supervise and develop junior and new staff members across all aspects of their work in the home, helping them build capability and confidence
- Manage the nurse call system and phone, answering the door, taking messages and responding promptly to resident and staff needs
- Arrange rotas and care plans that meet each resident's specific requirements - bathing, toileting, medication support, psychological care - delivered to a high professional standard
- Report on resident wellbeing, liaise with GPs and support managers, and carry out regular welfare checks at intervals set by senior staff
- Complete keyworker documentation and changeover records to a high standard, within agreed timeframes
Why you will love working here
- £13.80 per hour - solid, straightforward pay for skilled work
- Real professional development support, because the home genuinely invests in growing its team
- Employee of the Month recognition and long service awards that actually mean something
- Blue Light Card access for discounts on the things you use
- A chance to lead in a home with an Outstanding rating, where your work directly shapes the quality of life for residents and the strength of your team
Is this you?
- You have solid experience in residential care, with a track record of supporting residents and leading or mentoring other staff members
- You're naturally responsive and compassionate - you see residents as individuals with different needs, not a list to get through
- You believe in person-centred care and actually know how to build that into a team, not just talk about it
- You're organised and thorough with documentation and handovers; you understand that good records keep people safe
- You're keen to develop yourself and others - training and self-development aren't tick-boxes to you, they're how you get better at the job
