Most care jobs leave you doing the same shift, the same tasks, year after year. You're good at what you do, but nobody notices, and you never get the chance to lead. This role is different: we're looking for an experienced carer ready to step up, mentor others, and build a team that genuinely cares

Picture yourself arriving at work knowing that today, you're not just supporting residents - you're shaping how junior staff learn to do it right. You'll be the one they turn to when they're unsure, the steady presence that shows them what compassionate, person-centred care actually looks like. That's the weight and the privilege of leading here

The young people in this home need consistency and warmth. You'll deliver both. You'll help with daily living support - from medications and personal care to the moments of connection that make the difference between a care task and genuine human connection. You'll also make sure the keyworker documentation and changeover records are clear and thorough, because detail keeps people safe

What makes this different? You're part of a team that invests in you. Your development matters. You'll get real training and mentorship from senior staff, the space to grow into this leadership role, and recognition when you do it well. Over time, you'll see people you've trained thrive, and you'll know it's because you showed them how

What you will be doing

  • Support and assist residents with all aspects of daily living, delivering high-quality personal and psychological care in a professional, person-centred way
  • Mentor junior and new staff members, supervising and training them in all aspects of their work in the home, helping them develop confidence and competence
  • Answer the nurse call system promptly, respond to the door and telephone, and pass on messages accurately and on time
  • Monitor and report on residents' wellbeing, liaising with GPs and support managers to ensure coordinated care
  • Carry out regular welfare checks on residents at intervals set by senior staff, and arrange rotas to meet their care needs - medications, toileting, bathing, and more
  • Complete and oversee keyworker documentation and changeover records to the required standard and within agreed timeframes

Why you will love working here

  • £14.30 per hour - fair pay for skilled, committed work
  • Real professional development and mentorship from senior staff to help you grow into this leadership role
  • Recognition schemes including Employee of the Month and long-term service awards
  • Blue Light Card discounts to stretch your money further
  • Refer a Friend scheme - share this opportunity with someone good and benefit when they join

Is this you?

  • Do you have genuine experience in residential care, with a track record of supporting vulnerable young people?
  • Are you someone who leads by example - calm, compassionate, and able to show others the right way to do things?
  • Can you be trusted with detail? Documentation, handovers, and safety checks matter, and you take them seriously
  • Are you responsive to individual needs and committed to a person-centred approach, even when the shift is demanding?
