Most care jobs feel like you're treading water: the same shifts, the same stress, nowhere to go. This one is different. We're looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker who's ready to lead a small, tight-knit team, make real decisions about the quality of care, and watch your career actually move forward

You'll be managing a team of Support Workers at a home supporting just 4 adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries. That means you get to know people properly, spot what makes a real difference, and build relationships that actually matter. You're not a number in a factory

Here's what makes this place serious about your future: they don't just talk progression. Regional and Service Managers started exactly where you are now as Senior Support Workers. They invested in them through ongoing training and coaching, and they're committed to doing the same for you. You'll get paid to study QCF qualifications that open doors to management roles and better pay

Your days will include running supervisions and audits, liaising with health professionals and families, ensuring care plans are lived not just filed, and building community relationships that make the home feel genuinely welcoming. You'll sit in regular team meetings where your ideas actually get heard and shape how the service develops. The team here is genuinely supportive, and your manager will invest in your appraisals and wellbeing

What you will be doing

  • Manage and support a team of Support Workers, ensuring they deliver high standards of care in line with each person's individual care plan
  • Provide direct day to day support and care for up to 4 adults, helping them build routines and stability that work for them
  • Lead on accurate recording and reporting, maintaining all records to the standard required by the service
  • Liaise with health professionals and families, keeping everyone informed and involved in how support is progressing
  • Run supervisions and audits to ensure all staff are performing well and contributing positively to a happy, efficient home atmosphere
  • Encourage and organise community activities that build good relationships and give the adults real opportunities to engage

Why you will love working here

  • £14.55 to £15.05 per hour depending on your experience and qualifications
  • Paid induction and training to level up your skills and kick-start your career progression
  • Access to sector-leading QCF qualifications with the home's backing to study and grow into management roles
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave so you can actually rest and recharge
  • Blue Light card discounts at high street retailers, days out, gifts, holidays and even when buying a car
  • Health scheme option to claim back money towards opticians and dentists through your salary
  • Staff referral scheme: earn up to £1,000 for bringing in someone who joins the team
  • Real wellbeing support through an Employee Assistance Programme available online or by phone
  • Regular supervisions and appraisals with a management team that actually invests in you
  • Free DBS check paid by the provider

Is this you?

  • You hold NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and you're proud of the standard you deliver
  • You've got the experience to manage a small team of Support Workers and you genuinely want them to improve
  • You're detail-oriented: recording, reporting and following care plans properly matters to you
  • A full UK manual driving licence is desirable (but tell us if you're a strong candidate without it)
  • You're committed to the values of this home and you show it in how you work every single day
  • You're over 18 and ready for the enhanced DBS check this role requires
