Most care jobs feel like you're treading water: low pay, no real progression, and management that doesn't invest in you. This is different. We're looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to step into a leadership role in Liverpool where your expertise will be valued, your career will accelerate, and you'll actually earn what you're worth
Picture yourself leading a small, tight-knit team in a real home where children and young people thrive because adults like you show up consistently and genuinely care. As a Senior Support Worker, you're not just delivering care - you're shaping how it happens. You'll work alongside a registered manager, bring your own ideas to team meetings where your voice genuinely matters, and help create the kind of stable, therapeutic environment that changes kids' lives
Here's the part that sets this apart: the provider invests seriously in your growth. They fully fund qualifications, pay you to train, and have a proven track record of promoting their best people into regional and service manager roles. You'll be part of a team that's expanding because they do this well - and they want you climbing that ladder too
You'll work 39 hours a week on a full-time rota with sleep-in opportunities that add real money to your pay packet. Free meals during shifts, 28 days' annual leave, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, a pension scheme, and genuine wellbeing support mean you're actually looked after as a person, not just a pair of hands
What you will be doing
- Lead by example and provide hands-on therapeutic care to children and young people in the home, setting the tone for how the team supports each individual
- Work closely with the registered manager and other professionals to deliver tailored care that helps every young person thrive
- Step into a leadership role: mentor and support junior team members, model best practice, and help maintain the highest standards of care
- Contribute actively in team meetings, bringing your ideas and experience to shape how the service develops
- Undertake sleep-in shifts when required, supervising the home overnight and ensuring young people are safe and supported
Why you will love working here
- Real pay: £15.25 - £15.85 per hour, plus £3,000-£8,000 annually from sleep-in shifts - earning what you deserve for the skill you bring
- Fully funded qualifications and paid training that opens doors to progression into management roles within a provider that's actively promoting from within
- Lead a real team: work alongside a registered manager, have your ideas heard in team meetings, and build the culture of care you believe in
- Genuine support: regular supervision, appraisals, free wellbeing advice, enhanced maternity/paternity pay, 28 days' annual leave, free meals on shift, and a pension scheme
- Refer a friend and earn a £500 referral bonus split between you - grow the team, get rewarded
Is this you?
- Are you an experienced residential care worker with at least 12 months of hands-on experience in children's residential care?
- Do you hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People, or are you ready to gain it?
- Do you have a full UK Driving Licence? (This role requires it.)
- Are you ready to step up into a senior role where your leadership and experience genuinely shape how the team works?
