Most Team Leader roles in care feel like you're just firefighting on a rota that never quite fits your life. This one is different: you'll lead a small, tight-knit team supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a home where people actually thrive - and the organisation will bend over backwards to give you shifts that work for you

Imagine clocking in knowing your team respects you because you lead by example, not by title. You'll be there during mealtimes, during activities, during the real moments - supervising and supporting your colleagues as they help residents enjoy days out, trips away, and the everyday stuff that makes life worth living. You're not hidden in an office; you're part of the action, spotting what needs doing and stepping in with your own hands

The homes here aren't institutional. They're like second families - close-knit communities with their own rhythms and personalities. Your job is to make sure that culture stays warm and purposeful. You'll liaise with managers, flag concerns early, and help manage the home so that residents feel safe and happy. It's proper responsibility, but you won't be carrying it alone

And here's what matters: they invest in you. You'll get Adult Care Worker Level 2 and Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 qualifications. There's an Advanced Management Development Programme for managers in the making - that's you. They celebrate long service (£75 at 5 years, £100 at 10, £150 at 15), they run annual staff awards with real money (over 30 winners last year, each taking £400), and they've even built in a monthly prize draw where three frontline colleagues randomly win £500 each, tax-free

What you will be doing

  • Lead and supervise a team of social care workers, supporting them to deliver the highest standard of care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Take the lead in supporting residents with daily activities - mealtimes, personal care, and outings - encouraging positive attitudes and independence
  • Manage the home day-to-day alongside the managers and other shift leaders, reporting any concerns and using your initiative to solve problems as they arise
  • Liaise with residents during activities and help them get the most out of their time, whether that's a trip away or something happening at home
  • Execute all tasks professionally, accurately and on time, setting the standard your team will follow

Why you will love working here

  • £13.40 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, with genuine flexibility in your rota to fit around what matters to you
  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), sick pay, and a paid day off on your birthday
  • Funded qualifications: Adult Care Worker Level 2, Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3, plus access to our Advanced Management Development Programme to build your leadership skills
  • Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme for your health and wellbeing, Blue Light Card eligibility, and Stream - a financial wellbeing app where you can access earnings early, save, and get hundreds of retail discounts
  • Generous staff benefits including Christmas bonus vouchers, a refer-a-friend scheme (£500 when you bring someone in), monthly prize draws (three winners get £500 each, tax-free), and Choiceversary vouchers to celebrate your years of service

Is this you?

  • You've got real experience in the care sector and you're hungry to expand your knowledge - you know what good care looks like
  • You're patient, reliable, flexible and a natural communicator who genuinely enjoys working as part of a team
  • You can lead by example: calm under pressure, willing to get stuck in, and able to spot what needs doing without being asked
  • You're comfortable working shifts including weekends on a rota basis, but you need flexibility around your personal life (and we mean that - there are different patterns available)
