Most care leadership roles ask you to manage chaos on a shoestring. This one is different: a permanent nights position in a new, family-run home where you'll lead a small team, shape individualised care plans from scratch, and actually have the time and resources to do it right. If you're a natural leader who's tired of firefighting and ready to build something real, this is the role that changes everything
You arrive for your shift knowing exactly what you'll find: a team that looks to you, residents whose lives improve because you're there, and the space to lead properly. This isn't a massive chain home where you're a number. It's a new, family-run provider where the philosophy is simple: compassionate care, true family values, and residents living fulfilled lives with fresh home-cooked food, genuine choice in activities, and real dignity. You'll shape that culture every single shift
As Team Leader on nights, you're not just managing tasks. You're developing care plans that actually fit each person, running reviews with families and medical professionals, leading your care assistants to do their best work, and role-modelling what good care looks like. You'll work an every-other-weekend rota across seven days, planned six weeks in advance so you can actually have a life outside the home. The salary is £15.75 per hour, and the team lunches are genuinely free
This is where you grow into the leader you know you can be. You'll get a company pension, access to 24/7 employee counselling and support from qualified advisors, Blue Light Card discounts, and recognition through quarterly awards and long service schemes. The refer-a-friend incentive means you can bring people you trust into the team. It all adds up to a workplace that invests in you because they know good leaders don't grow in places that don't care
What you will be doing
- Lead your care team to deliver individualised personal care and support residents in all aspects of daily living, maintaining their independence, dignity and self-esteem
- Assign tasks to care assistants, monitor completion, and role-model the standard you expect; develop the key worker system and encourage your team to contribute to care plan reviews
- Develop, review and update residents' personal care plans to meet their changing physical, social and psychological needs; complete risk assessments and arrange care reviews with families and medical professionals
- Lead and support residents at mealtimes in line with their individual needs, and assist with activities of daily living that residents cannot manage alone
- Communicate with external professionals about care delivery, attend reviews and rounds, and maintain full confidentiality of residents, families and friends
- Demonstrate working knowledge of safeguarding, DOLS and MCA; seek guidance and support as required, and ensure your team follows the home's philosophy of individualised, person-centred care
