Most team leader roles in residential care ask you to manage chaos on a shoestring budget and burnt-out staff. This one is different: you'll lead a small, well-resourced team where high staffing ratios mean you can actually focus on the young people and developing your people, not firefighting crises. If you're ready to step up into genuine leadership where your decisions have real weight, read on

You'll walk into a workplace that's already built for success. High staff-to-child ratios mean your team isn't stretched thin - there's space to breathe, to think, and to do the work properly. That changes everything. Your days won't be about plugging holes; they'll be about spotting potential, building capability, and creating the kind of culture where both staff and young people thrive

From day one, you'll be supported. New starters here get a full week of comprehensive induction training, so you'll have the foundations you need. But this provider doesn't stop there: continuous professional development and relevant qualifications are woven into the culture. You'll have room to grow into this role, and beyond it, with training that actually matters

Leading here means being part of a team that invests in people. Whether that's your staff - who'll get the ongoing support they need to do their best work - or the young people in your care, you'll see the impact of working somewhere that believes in doing things properly. The bonus scheme for staff referrals is the icing: bring in someone good, they stick around, and you're rewarded for it

What you will be doing

  • Lead and develop a small residential care team, setting the tone for how young people are supported day to day
  • Manage staffing, rotas and team dynamics, with the luxury of proper ratios so you're not constantly understaffed
  • Oversee the quality of care and safeguarding across the home, making sure standards stay high
  • Support your team's professional development, identifying training needs and helping staff progress in their careers
  • Build relationships with young people and understand their needs, stepping in where support is required

Why you will love working here

  • High staff-to-child ratios so you can actually lead effectively, not just manage crises
  • Comprehensive induction week when you start, plus ongoing CPD and support for professional qualifications
  • A team environment where your investment in people is matched by the provider's investment in training and development
  • Staff referral bonus scheme - bring good people in, they thrive, and you're rewarded
  • Based in Harrow, working for a provider that genuinely prioritises doing care properly

Is this you?

  • You've got experience in residential care, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role, and you know what good looks like
  • You're passionate about young people and genuinely committed to making their time in care a positive turning point
  • You're a people manager at heart - you want to develop staff, spot potential, and build a strong team culture
  • You're calm under pressure but not complacent; you'll uphold high standards and know why they matter
  • You hold or are working towards a relevant qualification (Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent experience)
