Most care jobs feel like you're pushing water uphill: underpaid, unsupported, and watching the same mistakes repeat. This role is different because you'll lead a team that actually invests in its people, work in homes where young people genuinely heal, and earn what you're worth. If you're ready to step up into real leadership while making the kind of difference that sticks with you for life, keep reading

Imagine walking into work and knowing that today, your leadership will help a young person take a real step forward. Maybe it's the teenager who finally trusts an adult again. Maybe it's the one who showed up to school three days running instead of none. These are the huge small victories that make this work irreplaceable. You'll be part of those moments daily, supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs to find their footing and get their childhood back

You won't do this alone. Your team will have your back because you'll have theirs. As Team Leader, you'll deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers, lead by example, and create the conditions for your staff to do their best work. The home runs smoothly because you make it run smoothly, and because you inspire people to care as deeply as you do

This provider isn't one of those places where good people burn out. They've built a real development pathway: most of their team leaders and managers started as care workers and got promoted from within. You'll join their 4-week Care Academy on day one, get proper training, and if leadership is your thing, there's an 'Aspire' future managers programme waiting for you. Seven weeks' holiday, flexible benefits, medical cover, meals provided, employee assistance - they've thought about what makes someone actually want to stay

What you will be doing

  • Be the steady presence in young people's daily lives, building trust and creating the conditions for lasting positive change, especially during the highest highs and lowest lows
  • Lead and support your staff team, making sure everyone operates to the home's high standards and feels valued and developed
  • Step up to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers, ensuring the home runs smoothly and safeguarding is always the priority
  • Work day shifts plus up to 3 sleep-ins per month, being present and responsive to whatever the night brings

Why you will love working here

  • Base salary of £35,400 to £42,664 plus sleep-in payments of £80 each (up to 3 per month, roughly £2,880 yearly), attendance allowance up to £1,400, £2,000 regional allowance, and a £1,000 Welcome Bonus on completing probation
  • Seven weeks' paid holiday plus flexible benefits so you can adjust your pension, life insurance and holiday to suit your life
  • Full 4-week induction on the Care Academy with experienced professionals, so you start confident and ready
  • Medical cover for opticians, dentist appointments and high-street discounts, plus a wellbeing package with employee assistance
  • Meals provided while you work, beautiful working environments, and a clear pathway to manager roles - most leaders here came up through the ranks

Is this you?

  • You have a genuine, honest care for young people and the emotional resilience to stay calm and compassionate during challenging moments
  • You're a natural team player with a 'can do' attitude - someone who rolls up their sleeves and helps rather than delegates stress
  • You hold Level 3 Children's Residential Care qualification (or are willing to work towards it)
  • You have a full UK driving licence that you've held for at least 12 months
  • You can relate to and build real relationships with young people from all backgrounds and with diverse needs
