Most care jobs leave you exhausted and undervalued. This one doesn't. We're looking for a Team Leader who's ready to lead a small, skilled team supporting young people with real emotional and mental health needs - and we're offering the salary, training and career path to prove we mean it
Imagine walking into work knowing you're going to witness real change. Not the dramatic Hollywood stuff - the small victories. A young person who hasn't trusted an adult in years finally laughing with your team. A teenager finding their feet again. A child getting their childhood back. That's what Team Leaders do here, every single day. You'll be part of their lives during the highest highs and the lowest lows, building the relationships that actually rewire how these young people see themselves and the world
You won't do this alone. Your role is to lead and support your staff team, making sure everyone's got what they need to do brilliant work. You'll step up to deputise for the Registered Manager when needed, keep the home running at high standards, and inspire the people around you. This is real leadership - not the kind from a PowerPoint, but the kind that comes from genuinely caring and showing your team you've got their backs
The training you'll get is proper. Four full weeks in our Care Academy with experienced professionals who'll make sure you feel genuinely ready and confident. Then you'll have room to grow - most of our managers have come up through the ranks, and if you've got ambition there's an 'Aspire' future managers programme waiting for you. This is a career, not a job
What you will be doing
- Day-to-day care and support for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, creating lasting memories and positive experiences
- Lead and support your staff team, making sure they're equipped to deliver brilliant care and feeling valued in their work
- Keep the home running smoothly at high standards, managing rotas and operations with flexibility where possible (though weekend working is part of the role)
- Step up to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers, ready to make key decisions when needed
- Build genuine relationships with the young people in your care, using empathy and emotional resilience to help them move towards becoming well-rounded adults
Why you will love working here
- Base salary of £35,400 to £42,664, plus up to 3 paid sleep-ins per month at £80 each (around £2,880 a year extra) and up to £1,400 attendance allowance
- Seven weeks' holiday a year because we know you'll work hard and deserve proper time to recharge
- A full four-week induction through our Care Academy with experienced professionals, so you'll feel genuinely ready from day one
- Real career progression - most of our team leaders and managers came up from within, plus access to our 'Aspire' future managers programme if you've got the drive
- A flexible benefits package (adjust your holiday, pension and life insurance to suit you), medical cover for opticians and dentist costs, high-street discounts, wellbeing support and an employee assistance programme
- Meals provided while you're at work, beautiful working environments with the very best facilities, and a recommend-a-friend scheme that pays £1,000 every time someone joins us
Is this you?
- You've got the Level 3 Children's Residential Care qualification (or you're ready to get it)
- You're a team player with a genuine 'can do' attitude - the kind who rolls up their sleeves and helps others without being asked
- You've got real empathy and honesty; you genuinely care about the young people and the people you work with
- You can handle challenging situations with resilience and keep a clear head when things are tough
- You hold a full UK driving licence that you've had for at least 12 months
- You're ready to bring your whole self to work - we celebrate difference because it's what makes us better at what we do
