Most residential care jobs feel like you're treading water, reactive and understaffed, watching young people's potential slip away. This senior role is different: you'll be part of a team that's deliberately building something better, where staff are trusted to lead, trained properly, and actually rewarded for doing excellent work. If you've got the drive to lift a whole team up while transforming lives, this is the role that makes it possible

You'll be working in a family-centred home where young people aren't just managed, they're genuinely nurtured. The whole approach is psychologically informed, which means every day you're helping kids build real safety and stability, not just ticking boxes. That's the foundation: a place where healing actually happens, because everyone on the team gets it

As a senior, you're not drowning in paperwork or watching from the sidelines. You'll be hands-on with the young people, modelling the culture of excellence that runs through this service, while also supporting and developing the staff around you. That means you'll see the impact of your leadership in real time, watching both the kids and your team grow

This provider invests in people. They're offering full training for the right candidates, even if you don't have NVQ3 yet. They pay well, they offer bonuses through the Blue Light Card scheme, and they actually create pathways for progression. Join a team where striving for excellence isn't a corporate slogan, it's how everyone works every day

What you will be doing

  • Lead and mentor residential staff on shift, modelling the psychologically informed, family-centred approach and supporting them to deliver excellent care consistently
  • Work directly with young people in the home, building relationships and helping them process experiences, build resilience and move towards safer futures
  • Contribute to planning and delivering tailored support for each young person's needs, working alongside other professionals and keeping careful records
  • Help shape the culture and practice within the home, identifying where improvements can be made and supporting the team to implement them
  • Use your full UK driving licence as needed for transporting young people and supporting the operational running of the service

Why you will love working here

  • Excellent rates of pay with Blue Light Card bonuses that genuinely add up
  • Full training and support to develop your skills, whether or not you already have NVQ3
  • Real career progression, with a senior role that lets you grow into leadership and make an impact beyond your own shift
  • The chance to work in a home with a deliberate philosophy: family-centred, psychologically informed, and genuinely focused on helping young people build safer futures

Is this you?

  • You've got genuine care experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential or supported setting (NVQ3 is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidates)
  • You're a natural leader who can motivate and support other staff, staying calm under pressure and modelling the values of the home
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and are comfortable using it as part of the role
  • You're curious and reflective, wanting to understand why young people behave as they do and how you can help them heal, not just control them
  • You're reliable, professional and genuinely committed to making a difference in children's lives
