Most care roles feel like you're treading water: same shifts, same pay, no real chance to step up. This one's different. We're looking for an experienced residential care professional ready to lead a team, develop young people, and actually progress your career while earning £14.42 per hour in a permanent, full-time role where your impact matters

Picture yourself leading shifts where you're not just delivering care - you're setting the tone for how a whole team shows up for vulnerable young people. You'll be the one mentoring colleagues, modelling trauma-informed practice, and helping junior staff understand why the work we do changes lives. That's leadership that feels real, not theoretical

The young people here need consistency, trust, and someone who gets them. As a senior, you'll help shape their behaviour management and care plans, knowing that the stability you create today builds their resilience for years to come. You'll work alongside a Registered Manager who trusts you to run things and genuinely wants to see you develop

This isn't a dead-end shift pattern. You'll get flexible shifts, available overtime, and clear progression into management roles. The home invests in your growth: proper induction, structured training, and genuine professional development so you can work towards your Level 5 Leadership Diploma while you earn. Team days, Blue Light Card access, and a performance bonus mean you're valued beyond the basic pay

What you will be doing

  • Lead shifts and model person-centred, trauma-informed care that sets the standard for the whole team
  • Mentor and support colleagues, contributing to their supervision and professional development
  • Work with the Registered Manager to develop and review each young person's care and behaviour management plans
  • Ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance and company standards are always met - you're the steady hand when things get complex
  • Act as a positive role model, building trust and emotional well-being so young people can actually thrive

Why you will love working here

  • Permanent, full-time contract at £14.42 per hour with genuine progression into management
  • Flexible shifts and available overtime, so you can actually shape your working life
  • Comprehensive induction, structured training, and support to work towards your Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management while you work
  • Performance bonus, Blue Light Card, team days, and a supportive, inclusive culture where you're not just another number
  • Clear pathways to step up - this is your launchpad into senior leadership in residential care

Is this you?

  • Is this you: at least 1 year's experience as a senior in residential childcare, with the confidence to lead a shift?
  • You hold (or are working towards) a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce, or equivalent qualification
  • You've got a full UK Driving Licence and the ability to drive
  • You're calm under pressure, make sound decisions even when things are tough, and communicate clearly with both young people and colleagues
  • Supervisory or team leader experience is a real bonus - if you've mentored others before, we want to hear it
