Most residential care roles ask you to give everything to young people while your own career stays stuck. This one doesn't. We're looking for an experienced Senior or Team Leader to step into a role where progression isn't a pipe dream - it's what actually happens here, because two of our current managers started exactly where you're about to

Picture this: you're working in a modern, beautifully decorated home where young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties can actually feel safe and cared for. Ofsted has already praised these homes for their homely feel and high standards. That environment matters because when young people feel secure, they can finally grow. And you're the one making that possible

What sets this apart is the team around you. With a 96% staff retention rate, these aren't people cycling through for a year - they're people who've chosen to stay, which means you're walking into a stable, supportive culture where people know what they're doing. Two of the current managers started as Seniors in this company. Five years old and already showing you where progression goes. That's not luck; that's how this organisation is run

You'll lead key working sessions, facilitate family contact, organise activities that actually matter, and keep the records that protect young people. But you'll also be part of a team genuinely committed to developing you. Professional development and training aren't words on a poster here - they're built into how things work

What you will be doing

  • Lead and model high-quality key working sessions that help young people process their experiences and build real relationships
  • Facilitate and supervise family contact visits, supporting meaningful connections between young people and their families
  • Organise and run activities and events that engage young people, build their confidence and create positive memories
  • Maintain detailed records and attend meetings that keep young people safe and informed across the service
  • Share household responsibilities with the team, maintaining the safe, homely environments these young people deserve

Why you will love working here

  • £500 welcome bonus once you've passed probation, plus a £100 no-sick bonus for every 6-month period - money that recognises you're reliable
  • 13-hour paid shifts off for your birthday (without touching your annual leave), Christmas Day and New Year's Day paid at double time, and time and a half for Boxing Day
  • Increased pay for sleep-in cover you do on-call, because your time has value
  • Real progression: professional development and training built in, team building days, a company pension, on-site parking, and a clear track record of people moving from Senior to manager roles
  • Ofsted bonuses from £150 upwards, performance and yearly bonuses, and a £200 refer-a-friend scheme - plus you'll never feel like you're working alone because staff retention here is genuinely exceptional

Is this you?

  • You've got real experience working with children or young people, ideally in residential childcare, and you know what it takes to help them through emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • You're genuinely passionate about this work - not just the idea of it, but the actual daily task of showing up and making a difference in someone's life
  • You have the drive and commitment to take on a Team Leader or Senior role, which means thinking beyond your own shift and contributing to how the home runs
  • You hold or are working towards a Diploma of Higher Education (or equivalent), or you have substantial experience we can build on
  • You're reliably able to commute to Birmingham or can plan to relocate before starting, and you're flexible across day, night and overnight shifts
