Most support roles in schools feel like you're firefighting: reacting to crises, never really getting to know the young people you're helping. This is different. You'll work with a small number of learners, often providing 2:1 support, building real relationships and watching them genuinely thrive because they feel understood and safe

Imagine clocking in and knowing exactly who you're going to spend your day with. You know what settles them, what winds them up, what makes them smile. You're not juggling a whole class or constantly moving between different pupils. You're the consistent person in their week - the one they trust. That consistency is gold when a young person struggles with emotional regulation or communication. When they know you'll be calm, structured and predictable, everything else becomes possible

The learners here face real challenges - communication difficulties, emotional regulation, behaviour that can be intense. But your job isn't to control or react. It's to understand what someone needs, to put strategies in place alongside teachers and therapists, and to help them build confidence and independence one day at a time. You'll support transitions, maintain calm environments, sometimes provide personal care with dignity. It's about seeing progress - big and small - and knowing you made that happen

You're joining a charity set across 60 acres in beautiful countryside, where education, residential care, therapy and health services all work together. The team here is collaborative, aspirational and genuinely joyful about what they do. Full training is provided - you don't need prior school experience, but you do need patience, resilience and the heart to make a real difference. That's it. That's who they want
