You'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and specialists who actually know how to unlock learning in young people with different needs, communication styles and ways of thinking. It's not a mainstream classroom - it's a specialist environment built around each individual. You're never isolated or left to figure it out alone
The role itself is flexible and rewarding. Some days you'll work 1:1 with a pupil. Other times you'll support a small group activity, help develop independence, encourage communication or simply be the person who makes them feel safe enough to have another go. Every day looks different because every learner is different
What you will be doing
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups with their learning, communication and independence - tailored to what each young person actually needs
- Help deliver creative, individualised lessons alongside teachers, using strategies that work for learners with complex needs
- Create a positive classroom environment where diversity and emotional wellbeing matter, helping young people feel valued and safe
- Provide personal care and administer medication when needed (full training provided - no prior experience necessary)
- Celebrate progress in all its forms and contribute to a team that genuinely nurtures potential every single day
