Imagine walking into a classroom where you know every single pupil deeply. With class sizes capped at five, you're not managing chaos - you're building real relationships and tailoring every lesson to what each child actually needs. You'll design meaningful, hands-on learning around their interests and strengths, using practical projects and therapeutic approaches that help them grow academically, socially and emotionally. You'll work closely with a dedicated team that actually has time to collaborate, reflect and support each other. The therapies team here isn't a distant resource - they're alongside you, offering six-weekly confidential check-ins and group reflective practice sessions so you never feel alone with the weight of this work. The pupils you'll teach span Key Stages 2 to 4, with autism, behavioural, emotional and mental health needs. Every day you'll help them build confidence and essential life skills. You'll monitor progress against their EHCPs, work one-to-one and in small groups, and direct Teaching Assistants to support your vision. This is purposeful work that shapes a child's whole future - independence, resilience, hope
What you will be doing
- Lead classroom activities across a range of subjects - planning, teaching and assessing learning with your class of no more than five pupils
- Provide pastoral support, monitor progress against EHCP outcomes, and record academic and personal development in meaningful ways
- Keep pupils engaged and motivated, working one-to-one or in small groups to help them reach their individual learning goals
- Direct and work closely with Teaching Assistants, ensuring they're equipped to support your pupils effectively
- Travel with pupils to learning experiences beyond the classroom - you'll need a valid driving licence as our learners benefit from real-world, hands-on environments
