Most social workers spend their days buried in paperwork, watching their caseloads climb while the time they have for actual people shrinks. This role is different: you'll work with a team that's serious about giving you time back to do what matters. We're looking for someone who wants to make decisions that stick, not just process cases

Imagine finishing your day knowing you've spent it with the young people you support, not fighting your admin system. This is a setting where the team actively protects your time on the work that changes lives. You'll be part of a culture that treats social workers as professionals, not data processors

The service here understands what social workers actually need: clarity, backup, and space to think. You'll work with colleagues who see you as a skilled practitioner, not a box-ticker. The team invests in getting decisions right because they know bad decisions ripple through lives

You'll build real relationships with young people over time, hold complex cases with confidence, and see the direct impact of your judgment and care. This is the kind of role where you can actually remember why you became a social worker in the first place

What you will be doing

  • Undertake comprehensive social work assessments and deliver person-centred support plans that genuinely reflect each young person's needs and goals
  • Build trusting relationships with the young people you work with, maintaining consistent contact and advocacy that puts their voice at the centre
  • Make informed safeguarding decisions with clarity and confidence, knowing you have proper oversight and team support behind you
  • Keep accurate, timely records that tell the real story of the young person's life and progress, not just tick boxes
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, health services and other professionals to co-ordinate support that actually works

Why you will love working here

  • Work with a team that actively protects time for direct support and relationship-building, not endless admin
  • Access to genuine professional development and supervision that treats you as a skilled practitioner developing your expertise
  • Competitive salary and benefits package that reflects the complexity and responsibility of the role
  • The chance to work within a culture where human judgment and professional integrity are genuinely valued
  • A setting where safeguarding isn't bureaucracy: it's built in by design, and you'll always have clarity and backup for the decisions you make

Is this you?

  • You hold a relevant qualification in social work and hold or are eligible for registration with your regulatory body
  • You've got genuine experience working with young people in settings that demand sound judgment under pressure
  • You care about getting the detail right, especially when decisions matter: you review your own work and you want to be accurate
  • You value working in a team where your professional voice is heard and where oversight means support, not surveillance
  • You're clear about what you believe social work is for, and you won't compromise on putting the young person first
