Most care jobs feel transactional: clock in, manage the chaos, clock out. This isn't that. We're looking for kind, reliable people who want to genuinely change the lives of children aged 8 - 17 with emotional and behavioural needs - and who want their own work to mean something real. If you're ready to be part of a team that actually supports each other as well as the young people in their care, keep reading

Imagine walking into a home where the children know you see them - not their diagnosis, not their behaviour, just them. Every day you'll be there for the small wins: helping a young person manage a difficult emotion without shutting down, building enough trust that they'll ask for help next time, celebrating the day they get through a whole week without a meltdown. That's the heartbeat of this work, and it's why people who do it never leave

You'll be part of a team that actually has your back. Sleep-ins, weekends, difficult shifts - they're all shared fairly, and the people around you understand what it takes because they're doing it too. The home invests in training you properly, pays for your qualifications, and genuinely promotes from within. Many of the managers here started exactly where you would: as support workers who proved they had the skill, the heart and the staying power

This isn't a job for six months while you figure something else out. It's a career path for people who want to grow. Work with young people with complex needs, master behaviour management, earn your Level 3 qualification on the job, and watch doors open into management, specialisms, or leadership roles you didn't know existed

What you will be doing

  • Support children through daily routines, mealtimes, education time and activities - building the structures they need to feel safe
  • Help manage challenging behaviour using the training and guidance you'll receive, staying calm and responding with skill and compassion
  • Promote independence and help children build positive relationships with each other and with you - modelling what healthy connection looks like
  • Keep accurate records, spot when a child needs extra support, and report concerns through the right channels so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Work as part of a team, picking each other up on hard days and celebrating the wins together

Why you will love working here

  • Full training provided and your Level 3 qualification paid for - you'll leave with a genuine qualification and real skills
  • Sleep-in enhancements and flexible shifts that actually work around your life, not against it
  • Real career progression: managers here started as support workers, and they'll mentor you to get there too
  • A team that appreciates you and a values-driven home where your work is noticed and valued every single day

Is this you?

  • Are you reliable and resilient? This role needs someone who shows up, stays calm under pressure, and keeps going when it's tough
  • Do you have a Level 3 Diploma in childcare or youth support, or are you willing to work towards one? We'll support you either way
  • Have you worked with children or young people before? Previous experience is desirable but not a dealbreaker if you've got the right attitude
  • Can you work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins? We need flexibility and we reward it
  • Are you ready for an enhanced DBS check? That's the price of working somewhere where children can trust you

Applications close on 12 October 2026. Great roles like this are filled quickly, so the sooner you apply the better.

Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
