Most care jobs feel like you're working in a factory, not a home. You clock in, manage crisis, clock out. This role is different: you'll join a team that actually invests in you, knows your name, and treats professional development like it matters. If you're ready to support young people while building real skills and a genuine career, read on

Picture yourself in a small, homely residential environment where you're not just managing behaviour but building real relationships with the young people in your care. You're encouraging their individual interests, celebrating their wins, and helping them see what's possible. The manager knows you by name, checks in on how you're doing, and genuinely wants you to grow

This provider has been doing this since 1993. They run 10 homes across the region, from two-bedded to single-occupancy specialist placements, which means they've thought about flexibility and person-centred care more than most. Ofsted inspectors have noted the warmth and openness of the environment, and the reflective, detailed supervision that actually helps you get better at what you do

You'll get proper training with a clear path to your Childcare Diploma Level 3 qualification. The team culture isn't just talk: staff say they feel valued and supported, managers foster curiosity about the young people's needs, and there's real teamwork. This is a place where your development matters as much as the care you give

What you will be doing

  • Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people, helping them feel safe and cared for in a homely environment
  • Protect and safeguard the welfare of the young people in your care, staying alert and acting on concerns
  • Encourage and support the development of each young person's individual interests and strengths
  • Work as part of a collaborative team, attending supervision, team meetings and reflective practice sessions that help you grow in the role

Why you will love working here

  • Salary of £32,185.82 to £32,755.29 per year (including sleep-in shifts), paid fairly for the work you do
  • Full training and support to achieve your Childcare Diploma Level 3 qualification at no cost to you
  • Detailed, reflective supervision and a team culture where you genuinely feel valued and supported
  • Meals included, company pension, holiday pay, plus an employee discount scheme with over 740 retailers
  • Unlimited refer-a-friend scheme where you earn £500 for every person you bring into the team

Is this you?

  • Are you someone with a genuine desire to learn and develop? You don't need experience yet, but you do need the passion to show up and improve
  • Do you have the emotional resilience to support young people who are vulnerable or have experienced trauma, while staying grounded yourself?
  • Can you commit to building relationships and staying present, even when the work is challenging?
  • Are you willing to engage with training, supervision and feedback as part of becoming a better care worker?
