Most care jobs ask you to do everything on a shoestring and hope you'll stay anyway. This one is different: full-time permanent work with sleep-in payments on top, genuine career pathways, and a team that actually invests in your growth because they're not answerable to venture capital. If you want to support young people in a real home where your work matters and you're valued for it, this is the role to read

You'll be at the heart of a young person's turning point. Every day you create the safe, stable environment where they can build confidence, learn independence, and start to heal. This isn't about box-ticking: you're building real relationships that help them grow into adults who know they matter. The home runs on team-based rotas so you're never carrying the weight alone, and the whole organisation is built on trauma-informed, attachment-focused practice - your manager speaks this language too

This provider is family-owned and reinvests everything back into staff and young people, which means you'll actually see your training funded, your ideas listened to, and your wellbeing taken seriously. You get 28 days holiday, on-demand GP access, confidential support 24/7, and the space to breathe when you need it. Birthday recognition, wellbeing days when life gets heavy, and a relaxed dress code that treats you like a human rather than a uniform

Your career isn't capped. The structured learning and development programmes lead directly to Team Leader, Deputy, and Registered Manager roles for people who want them. You could even get involved in the organisation's international projects supporting communities in Tanzania. This is a values-led home where you're part of something bigger - over 60 services across the country, all operating by the same commitment to genuine care

What you will be doing

  • Create a warm, safe, and supportive environment day to day, helping young people feel genuinely cared for
  • Build positive relationships with the young people in your care and support their daily routines with consistency and empathy
  • Work from care plans to promote their independence and emotional wellbeing, celebrating small wins and big progress
  • Keep accurate, timely records and reports that help the team stay connected and responsive
  • Work as part of a team-based rota including sleep-ins, weekends, and varied shifts - never isolated on a shift

Why you will love working here

  • £32,240 per annum, plus up to £8,460 extra per year for sleep-ins completed - real money on top of your base salary
  • Fully funded qualifications and a clear pathway to Team Leader, Deputy, or Registered Manager roles if you want to progress
  • 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) that increases as you stay, plus wellbeing days when you need them
  • 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme, on-demand GP access, and a team culture built on actually supporting each other
  • Pension with NEST, Sage Employee Benefits discounts, Blue Light Card access, employee referral bonuses, long service recognition, on-site parking, and a relaxed dress code

Is this you?

  • You have experience working with children and young people (or you're genuinely keen to start and learn on the job)
  • Level 3 in Children & Young People's Residential Care, or you're willing to work towards it (fully funded)
  • You're resilient, positive, and thrive as part of a team rather than going it alone
  • You have a full UK driving licence (preferred, but not essential)
  • You're drawn to this work because you actually care about helping young people rebuild their lives, not because you need any job
