Most care jobs ask you to do brilliant work on a tight budget with minimal support. This one is different: you'll earn £27,497.60 plus up to £8,460 annually for sleep-ins, access unlimited learning, and work within a values-led organisation that actually reinvests in its people rather than shareholders. If you've ever wondered what it feels like to be genuinely supported while supporting young people, read on

You'll work in a children's home where your primary job is simple but profound: create a safe, stable, nurturing space where young people can grow in confidence, build independence, and develop the life skills that carry them forward. Every day you'll be building real relationships, supporting care plans that matter, and watching young people discover what they're capable of. It's exhausting and it's exhilarating

This provider is family-owned and reinvests surplus funds back into services and charitable work globally, not into dividend payments. That means the team around you is there because they genuinely believe in this work, not because a corporate overlord demands it. You'll have 24/7 access to confidential employee support, on-demand GP access, and a strong team culture where people actually help each other through the hard days

Career progression is real here. If you want to step up, there are clear pathways into Team Leader, Deputy, and Registered Manager roles, backed by fully funded qualifications and structured learning programmes. The provider is the UK's first Dyadic Developmental Practice Residential Certified Organisation, meaning you'll be developing skills in trauma-informed and attachment-focused care that are increasingly rare and increasingly valued across the sector

What you will be doing

  • Create and maintain a warm, safe, supportive environment where young people feel valued and secure
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with young people and support their emotional wellbeing
  • Follow and implement care plans, support daily routines, and promote independence in practical life skills
  • Maintain accurate records and reports that inform the care and development of each young person
  • Work flexible shifts including sleep-ins and weekends as part of a rota-based team

Why you will love working here

  • Earn £27,497.60 salary plus up to £8,460 per year for sleep-ins completed, with options to work 40, 33, or 30 hours per week around your life
  • 28 days holiday per year (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing with service, plus wellness days and birthday recognition
  • Fully funded qualifications and clear pathways to Team Leader, Deputy, and Registered Manager roles backed by structured learning programmes
  • Genuine support every day: 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme, on-demand GP access, pension with NEST, and a team that has your back
  • Be part of something with real purpose: work for a values-led organisation with a track record supporting children and young people across London, Peterborough, Northampton, Kent, and Norfolk

Is this you?

  • You've worked with children or young people before (or you're genuinely ready to start now with the right support)
  • You're drawn to this work because you believe in making a real difference, not for the clocked hours or the pay slip alone
  • You hold or are willing to work towards Level 3 in Children & Young People's Residential Care
  • You're resilient, positive, and thrive in a team where everyone pulls together
  • You hold a full UK driving licence (preferred, but not a dealbreaker)
