Most care jobs feel like you're treading water - endless shifts, little impact, zero adventure. This is different. We're looking for someone who wants to genuinely transform how young people see themselves, by combining daily care with real outdoor activities that build confidence and resilience. If you love being outside and you want work that actually matters, keep reading

Picture this: you're supporting young people aged 8 to 18 who've faced real difficulties - social, emotional and mental health challenges that have knocked their confidence. Our 12-week programme gives them what they desperately need: a break from hard circumstances, a safe place to rebuild, and a fresh start. You're not just managing their day-to-day care; you're their mentor, their proof that adults can be trusted, and the person who helps them discover what they're actually capable of

The setting is designed around activity. Think rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, walking. These aren't treats bolted onto the job - they're the heart of it. You'll lead these adventures, watch barriers crumble, and see young people develop skills and self-belief they didn't know they had. Every session builds something real: courage, resilience, belonging

You'll be part of a supportive team in a home that genuinely invests in its staff. They cover your Enhanced DBS in full, fund your QCF qualifications to help you progress, and they mean it when they say they value what you do. The rota - 4 days on, 8 days off, with sleep-ins included - gives you proper breathing room. You'll live on-site during your shifts with meals provided, which means you're truly embedded in the young people's week, not rushed between locations

What you will be doing

  • Build trusting, nurturing relationships with young people, providing the emotional stability and daily care they need to feel safe and valued
  • Lead outdoor activities - rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, walks - that challenge them positively and rebuild their confidence
  • Support personal and social development through structured activities and everyday care routines, modelling what healthy adult relationships look like
  • Work collaboratively with your team to create a stimulating, safe environment where young people can thrive and take genuine risks

Why you will love working here

  • £13.95-£14.55 per hour, plus up to £6,000 sleep allowance per annum - fair pay that recognises your value as a Real Living Wage Employer
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave including 8 public holidays, so you actually get time to breathe
  • Your Enhanced DBS check is paid for in full, plus all renewals, because they support you properly
  • QCF qualifications funded to unlock your career growth and open doors to progression
  • NEST pension matched up to 3%, Circle wellbeing hub with counselling and discounts, Blue Light card savings, and a £500 referral bonus when you bring talented people into the team

Is this you?

  • Are you over 21 and do you hold a full UK driving licence? You'll need both
  • Do you have the right to work in the UK? That's essential
  • Are you genuinely excited about outdoor activities and adventure - and can you bring that energy to young people who've lost theirs?
  • Can you commit to the rota: 39 hours per week, 4 days on and 8 days off, including sleep-ins, working Monday to Friday one week then Friday to Monday the next?
