Most care jobs feel like you're just clocking in and clocking out, watching from the sidelines while young people struggle to find their way. This one is different: you'll be the steady adult presence that actually changes lives, working alongside a team that's serious about giving children and young people the support they desperately need to turn things around

Imagine coming to work knowing that today, you might be the person who helps a young person see they're capable of more than they thought. One conversation over breakfast. A listening ear during a difficult moment. Your consistency and care, day after day, creates the safety they've been missing. That's the real work that happens here

You'll be part of a small, committed team working under experienced leadership. The Registered Manager and Team Leaders actually know your name, know what you're good , and help you grow. There's proper training provided from day one because this provider knows that great care starts with staff who feel supported themselves

Whether you work days, nights, bank shifts or combine them, there's flexibility built in. Some people come in wanting full-time security; others need part-time work that fits their life. Both are genuinely welcomed here because the home needs reliable people across every shift pattern

What you will be doing

  • Provide day-to-day practical and emotional support to children and young people, attending to their immediate needs and helping them work through their difficulties
  • Support young people to attend school, health appointments and social activities, making sure they get there and helping them make the most of it
  • Model positive behaviour and values, showing the young people how to conduct themselves, handle conflict and treat others with respect
  • Help young people maintain and personalise their living space, teaching life skills like cooking, cleaning and household management
  • Work closely with your Team Leader and Manager, following their direction and contributing to the team's approach to each young person's wellbeing

Why you will love working here

  • Competitive pay at £12.60 per hour, with flexibility to choose full-time, part-time, days, nights or bank work to suit your life
  • Full training provided from day one, so no experience necessary - you'll learn everything you need to support these young people effectively
  • Work alongside experienced Managers and Team Leaders who invest in their staff and actually want you to develop in role
  • Be part of a team culture where your presence genuinely matters and every shift you work makes a measurable difference to young people who need it most

Is this you?

  • You're genuinely interested in young people and want to make a real difference in their lives, even if you've never done care work before
  • You're reliable and can commit to your agreed shifts, whether that's days, nights or a mix including bank work
  • You're willing to learn and grow in the role, and you're open to the full training programme the provider will give you
  • You can be a steady, calm presence: young people in care need adults who listen without judgment and stay consistent even when things are tough
