Most care jobs trap you in a rigid rota that doesn't fit your life. This one doesn't. We're a growing, family-run home care provider looking for reliable, compassionate people to support older adults in their own homes across Surrey, Dorset and the surrounding villages, with genuine flexibility built in from day one
Every shift you work makes a real difference. You'll be helping people stay independent, maintain their dignity, and keep living in the homes and communities they love. Morning visits, evening shifts, flexible hours around your own life - whether you're building a new career in care, fitting work around family, semi-retired, or adding a second income, there's a genuine fit here
You won't be left to figure it out alone. Our dedicated training facility in Shaftesbury runs hands-on, scenario-based inductions that build real confidence. Then we keep investing in you: ongoing support, NVQ qualifications at Levels 2 and 3, and genuine pay progression as you develop your skills. People stay here because they're genuinely supported
The team culture matters. As a family-run business, we're not faceless corporate. You'll know your colleagues, work in your local area where you already live, and be part of a provider that's genuinely proud of the care it delivers
What you will be doing
- Support older adults with day-to-day care tasks in their own homes - personal care, meal prep, medication reminders, companionship
- Help people maintain their independence and dignity while enabling them to remain living in their local community
- Manage your own schedule across morning shifts (7.00am to 10.00am/11.00am) and evening shifts (4.00pm to 10.00pm), Monday to Sunday
- Travel between clients' homes efficiently, using either a company car (if you commit to 30+ hours weekly) or your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement
- Develop your skills through ongoing training and work towards NVQ qualifications as you progress
Why you will love working here
- Pay that rises as you develop: basic rate £14.53/hour, rising to £15.14/hour with NVQ Level 2, and £15.69/hour with NVQ Level 3
- Paid travel time between visits, plus 40p per mile mileage if using your own car, or a company car for those committing to 30+ hours weekly
- Genuine flexibility: full-time or part-time hours that work around your life, not against it
- Ongoing training and real progression: hands-on induction, continuous support, and NVQ qualifications to build your career
- Work locally in your community, supporting people you know matter, in a family-run business that values its people
Is this you?
- You hold a full UK driving licence (essential - you'll be visiting people's homes across a wide area)
- You're reliable, compassionate, and genuinely enjoy helping people maintain their independence
- You're flexible: whether full-time, part-time around family, or building second income, you can adapt to the rota we offer
- If applying for full-time work and you're currently outside the area, you're willing to relocate to the Shaftesbury region
- You're open to learning: we'll train you, and you're ready to work towards NVQ qualifications to grow your career in care
