Most care jobs feel transactional: you show up, do the shift, leave. This one is different. We're looking for someone who genuinely believes in young people's potential and wants to be part of a team where loyalty, training and real career growth aren't just promised but actually delivered
Imagine working somewhere the staff actually stay. Where the manager knows your name, your strengths and where you want to go next. This home is part of a thriving, expanding provider with Outstanding and Good Ofsted ratings across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Manchester. The homes themselves are residential therapeutic units in large family detached houses, not cramped shared spaces. You're creating a proper family environment where young people feel safe enough to grow
The young people here come with complex needs and difficult histories. You'll be the adult who helps them see their own potential, who celebrates small wins and stays steady when things are tough. You'll be in their daily lives, cooking meals together, helping them make decisions about the home, building the trust that actually changes things
The organisation is serious about investing in you. They fund NVQ Level 3 and Level 5 diploma qualifications, offer clinical counselling for staff, and actively promote from within. You won't hit a ceiling. The shift patterns are designed to work for real life: regular 2 on 4 off rotas, flexible days-only shifts (10am to 10pm), and if you're full-time, up to 10 sleep-ins per month so you're not exhausted. Loyal staff get increased annual leave. The team is genuinely stable and built to last
What you will be doing
- Create a warm, encouraging environment where young people develop self-esteem, motivation and respect for themselves and others
- Be actively involved in helping young people have a real say in how the home runs and the decisions that affect them
- Support young people's successful move into family placements or other residential settings, working with them and prospective carers to make transitions happen
- Keep accurate, detailed records and handle the day-to-day administration that keeps the home running smoothly
- Represent the home professionally to external agencies and individuals, championing the work you do
Why you will love working here
- £13.71 per hour with flexible shift patterns designed around your life: choose regular 2 on 4 off, days-only shifts (10am to 10pm), or a mix that suits you
- Up to 10 sleep-ins per month for full-time workers, all daily meals provided while you're on shift
- Full induction, mandatory and additional training every year, plus the organisation funds your NVQ Level 3 and Level 5 diploma if you want to progress
- Clinical counselling and guidance available for all staff, a genuinely loyal and experienced team, and genuine career growth through internal promotion
- Extra perks including bike to work scheme, discounts on shops and entertainment, increased annual leave for long-serving staff, and rewards for Outstanding Ofsted ratings
Is this you?
- You have genuine passion for working with young people and can stay patient and present when things are difficult
- You've got paid experience working in a residential childcare setting (or you have NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, though valuable hands-on experience matters just as much)
- You hold a full UK Driving Licence
- You're happy to apply for Enhanced DBS clearance and can provide satisfactory employment references
- You're someone who wants to belong to a real team, not just clock in and out
Applications close on 12 October 2026. Great roles like this are filled quickly, so the sooner you apply the better.
Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
