Most care roles ask you to manage crises and paperwork, then wonder why you're burned out. This one is different: you'll be part of a team that actually puts recovery and independence at the heart of everything, working with adults who have complex mental health needs and learning disabilities in bespoke accommodation designed to help them thrive. If you've got genuine experience supporting people through challenging behaviour and you believe in person-centred care, read on
Imagine a workplace where your empathy isn't just valued, it's the whole point. You'll be mentoring and supporting adults in their own homes, helping them build the independence and autonomy they're fighting for. Every shift, you'll use your skills to understand what recovery looks like for each person, then work flexibly and creatively to help them get there. That's the impact you'll have
The service operates 24 hours a day across multiple sites, which means your shifts might be days, nights, or a mix depending on what suits you and where you're needed. You won't be isolated: you're part of a highly respected, established provider that's been doing this well for years. The team here understands what it takes to support people with moderate to complex needs, and they invest in keeping that knowledge and skill sharp
You'll handle medication administration, work through detailed care plans, complete the paperwork that actually matters, and stay calm when behaviour escalates, using de-escalation techniques because that's what the role demands. You'll engage with external services on behalf of your service users, all while building relationships that help people move forward. This isn't a tick-box job: it's real, skilled support work
