Most care jobs sell you on the mission but leave you exhausted, unsupported and going nowhere. This residential home is different: they're building a team where your compassion actually gets backed by proper training, real career progression, and the space to grow into the role you want to become. If you've ever felt called to genuinely change a young person's life, this is the place to do it

Imagine clocking in each day knowing you're part of a team that actually has your back. You'll be building trusting relationships with children and young people who need stability, care and someone who sees them. You're not just supervising - you're teaching life skills, supporting education, opening doors to hobbies and interests, and creating that safe, nurturing environment where real change happens. That's the daily reality here

The provider invests in their people. You'll get comprehensive induction that prepares you properly, not throws you in at the deep end. If you don't already hold NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People, they'll support you to work towards it. There's no dead-end feeling - career progression within care services is genuinely built in, not just written on the website

You'll work shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, so this demands flexibility and resilience. But you're doing it as part of a dedicated team under a Registered Manager who understands that good safeguarding, accurate records and genuine teamwork are what make homes work. The responsibility is real. So is the support

What you will be doing

  • Provide day-to-day care, support and supervision for children and young people in the residential home
  • Help young people develop independence and life skills through everyday routines and planned activities
  • Support their engagement with education, hobbies and recreational activities that matter to them
  • Build trusting relationships and create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel secure and valued
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and care plans that keep safeguarding at the centre of everything you do

Why you will love working here

  • Competitive salary plus allowances and overtime opportunities
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training so you're never left to figure it out alone
  • Support to achieve professional qualifications, with the provider backing your development
  • Real career progression within care services - not a promise, but a genuine pathway
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment where you're part of a dedicated team

Is this you?

  • Are you someone with experience working with children or vulnerable groups? That's valued, but not essential - the provider provides full training
  • Do you hold NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People, or are you willing and able to work towards it?
  • Are you genuinely caring, patient and resilient - the kind of person who doesn't give up on young people when things get tough?
  • Can you work shifts flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins?
  • Do you communicate clearly, work well in a team, and put safeguarding and children's welfare at the absolute centre of what you do?
