Most care jobs feel like you're treading water, doing the same shifts for the same pay with nowhere to go. This role is different. We're looking for a Support Worker who's ready to make a real difference in people's lives while building genuine career growth, and we're backing that with training, fair pay rises linked to your skills, and a team that actually invests in you
You'll be working in a supported living and outreach service where the people you support have learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or acquired brain injuries. This isn't a factory model. Every person has a person-centred plan that puts their own dreams and goals at the heart of everything you do, and you'll be the one helping them build the life they actually want to live
Your week involves real, tangible support: helping someone develop a new hobby they're passionate about, teaching practical life skills like budgeting and cooking, accompanying people to health appointments, and providing the kind of physical and emotional presence that changes lives. You're not just ticking boxes. You're prompting independence, celebrating small wins, and being part of a partnership with social workers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and other specialists who all care about the same outcome you do
The home values your growth too. You'll get paid training towards QCF qualifications that actually open doors to promotion and specialisation. Your pay reflects your experience and what you achieve, with transparent pay scales that reward you as you develop. And there's genuine support around you: Circle, your wellbeing hub, covers counselling, exercise advice and discounts; you get a Blue Light card for savings across high street retailers and days out; and a pension scheme with matched contributions so you're not working without a safety net
What you will be doing
- Day-to-day support and routines with the people we support, building trust and consistency in their lives
- Helping people develop independence whilst supporting them to live fulfilling lives, whether that's through hobbies, interests, or learning new skills
- Teaching and reinforcing life skills like budgeting, paying bills, shopping and cooking
- Supporting health and wellbeing: administering medication, accompanying people to appointments, and providing physical and emotional support when they need it
- Assisting with personal care and domestic tasks including cleaning and meal preparation as part of holistic support
Why you will love working here
- £13.45 to £14.15 per hour, starting point dependent on your experience and existing qualifications, with transparent pay progression as you grow
- 24 hours per week, giving you structure and the chance to build real relationships with the people you support
- 5.6 weeks annual leave including 8 public holidays, because rest is not a luxury
- Your Enhanced DBS check is fully paid for by us, with renewals covered too, and a comprehensive paid induction programme to set you up properly from day one
- QCF qualifications funded and supported, a Circle wellbeing hub with counselling and healthy living support, Blue Light card discounts, and a NEST pension scheme with matched contributions up to 3 per cent
- £500 referral bonus when you bring talented people into the team who complete their probation, and guaranteed interview consideration if you have military service background
Is this you?
- You hold a full UK Manual Driving License and can reliably transport service users to appointments and activities
- You have real experience supporting people with challenging behaviours and the patience to de-escalate without losing sight of the person
- You're over 18, comfortable with a full Enhanced DBS check, and genuinely interested in understanding what makes each person tick
- You're a woman, and we're specifically seeking female support workers because of the genuine occupational requirements of the people we support
- You bring warmth, reliability and a no-fuss attitude to care; you don't need to have all the qualifications yet, but you need to have the heart for the work
Applications close on 12 October 2026. Great roles like this are filled quickly, so the sooner you apply the better.
Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
