Most care jobs promise 'making a difference' and then leave you drowning in paperwork, unsupported and burnt out. This one is different: you'll work in a genuine team that invests in your growth, trusts you to use your judgement, and backs you up every single day. If you're someone who actually wants to build relationships with the young people you support and see real progress, keep reading

Every day you'll be part of a young person's routine - helping them with personal care, supporting them through mealtimes, getting them ready for appointments or college, and building the kind of trust that makes real change possible. You'll follow behaviour management strategies that work because they're tailored to each individual, and you'll see what happens when consistency and genuine care meet a child who's had very little of either

This isn't a job where you clock in, do your shift and clock out. You'll be documenting what you see, reporting changes that matter, collaborating with social workers and healthcare professionals who actually want your input, and attending training that teaches you skills you'll use immediately. The home runs on teamwork - you're never isolated, and every voice counts

Whether it's administering medication safely, supporting someone's mobility with the right techniques, or providing the emotional encouragement that helps a teenager believe in themselves again - you'll grow into this role knowing you're doing something that genuinely matters. The team here supports your development, so you won't be left to figure it out alone

What you will be doing

  • Provide personal care assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and all daily living tasks
  • Support meal planning and preparation, helping young people eat well and develop independent skills
  • Administer medications as prescribed, keeping accurate documentation and reporting any concerns
  • Follow individualised support plans and behaviour management strategies, adapting your approach to each young person's needs
  • Monitor and report changes in condition or behaviour so the team can respond quickly
  • Collaborate with social workers, healthcare providers and other professionals to join up the support each young person receives

Why you will love working here

  • Competitive salary that reflects the real value of what you do
  • Ongoing training and development so you can build skills and confidence in areas like first aid, medication administration, and behaviour management
  • A supportive working environment where you're part of a genuine team, not struggling alone
  • The chance to see real impact - to know that your consistency and care is changing a young person's trajectory

Is this you?

  • Are you someone with experience supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or other support requirements - or have you worked in a similar care role?
  • Do you understand behaviour management and can follow support plans thoughtfully, even when things get difficult?
  • Have you got GCSEs or equivalent, and ideally some training in first aid, medication, or behaviour support?
  • Are you genuinely empathetic - able to stay calm, patient and compassionate when things don't go to plan?
  • Can you work both independently and as part of a team, communicating clearly and keeping records that are accurate and up to date?
