Most care jobs offer you a rota and a wage. This one offers you a team that actually gets it, training that goes all the way, and the real chance to turn a young person's life around. If you're burnt out by endless shifts and broken promises, this is different
These young people have been through more than most adults. Multiple placements, broken trust, trauma that shapes how they show up every single day. They need someone patient enough to build a relationship at their pace, someone who can stay calm when things get hard, someone who actually listens. That's you, and that work changes everything
You'll be part of a team that invests in you properly. Your training is fully paid. Your wellbeing matters: there's a 24-hour counselling service, a health care plan, and a three-week rolling rota designed so you can actually have a life outside these walls. Six weeks annual leave. That's real
This isn't a job where you hit your ceiling. There's genuine career progression here, and the bonus scheme means everyone wins when the home thrives. You'll see young people stabilise, grow, trust again. That's the reward nobody talks about but everyone who does this work knows is worth everything
What you will be doing
- Build trusted relationships with the young people in the home, working at their pace and offering the structure and guidance they need to heal from past trauma and disruption
- Use calm, patient behavioural management to support children through crisis moments, staying grounded and non-judgmental even when things are difficult
- Communicate with respect and active listening, making sure each young person knows their views, wishes and feelings actually matter and are heard
- Work across a three-week rolling rota to provide consistent, reliable care and keep the home running safely and warmly
Why you will love working here
- Fully paid training and qualifications so you can grow your skills and career in this sector
- Real work-life balance on a three-week rolling rota, plus six weeks annual leave and a percentage of your sleep-in pay covered when you take time off
- 24-hour employee assistance and counselling because caring for traumatised young people takes its toll, and your mental health matters
- Medicash health care plan, company pension, paid food whilst on shift, Blue Light discount card access, and a £500 refer-a-friend bonus
- Bonus scheme tied to OFSTED outcomes, so when the home thrives, you benefit too
Is this you?
- You have real empathy and patience, especially with young people who've learnt not to trust adults
- You're a good communicator who can stay calm under pressure and model the behaviour you want to see
- You understand that resilience and emotional intelligence matter more than a perfect CV, and you're ready to grow in this role
- You're looking for work-life balance and genuinely want to be part of a team that supports your wellbeing, not just extracts your labour
