Most care jobs feel like you're just going through the motions, understaffed and undervalued. But this small, purpose-built home in a beautiful Cotswolds market town is different: they actually invest in their people, they want you to grow, and they're building a team that genuinely cares. If you're ready to do meaningful work somewhere that treats you like a human being, keep reading
Picture this: you arrive at a spacious, friendly home where residents know your name and the atmosphere is warm, not chaotic. You're supporting older adults with real dignity, helping them through their daily routines in ways that matter. The team isn't stretched to breaking point because the home is small and properly resourced, which means you can actually give each person the attention they deserve
You're not just a pair of hands here. The home genuinely believes in developing its staff, and they'll support your training and self-development. You'll have the chance to mentor junior and newer team members, building them up the right way. That kind of responsibility, backed by proper supervision and trust, is how you grow into a real leader in care
Witney is a pretty market town with genuine life to it: local shops, parks, cafes and a sense of community. Oxford is just 12 miles away if you want the buzz of the city. But the heart of this role is the small team environment, where people actually know each other and residents get consistency, not a rotating door of strangers
What you will be doing
- Support residents with all aspects of daily living, from personal care to medications, toileting and bathing, always keeping their individual needs at the heart of what you do
- Answer the nurse call system promptly and give assistance as required; answer the door and phone appropriately and pass messages on
- Keep careful watch on residents' wellbeing, do regular checks at intervals set by senior staff, and report any concerns to GPs and support managers
- Support and help train junior and newer staff members in their work, under the guidance of senior team members
- Complete all records and keyworker documentation to a high standard, making sure changeovers are fully documented within agreed timeframes
Why you will love working here
- £12.82 per hour for work that actually feels worthwhile
- A small, properly resourced home where you're not drowning in understaffing, so you can do your job properly
- Real investment in your development, backed by proper training and supervision, because this provider knows that good staff are everything
- Employee of the Month recognition and long-term service awards that show they value loyalty and hard work
- The Blue Light Card benefit, plus the chance to grow into a mentoring and training role as you develop in the post
Is this you?
- Is this you? You have genuine experience in residential or nursing care, and you're someone who listens to what residents actually need rather than what a checklist says
- You're reliable, organised, and good at spotting when something isn't quite right with a resident's wellbeing or mood
- You can take on responsibility (like training newer staff) and want to keep growing in your role, not just coast
- You're warm with people and can stay calm under pressure, but you're also someone who speaks up if something isn't right
- You believe that care is about compassion and respect, and you can build genuine relationships without losing your professional boundaries
