Most care jobs leave you exhausted, undervalued and stuck in the same role year after year. This one is different: you'll work alongside a team that genuinely invests in your growth, celebrates the work you do, and gives you real pathways to build a career. If you're ready to support young people to live their best lives whilst building your own, read on

Picture this: you're helping someone get ready for a trip to see their family, or supporting them through a shift at their supported job, or simply sitting with them as they work towards something that matters to them. Every shift, you're not just providing care - you're enabling real choice, real independence, and real dignity. That's what this role is about. You'll work across days, nights and weekends in a residential home where the mission is crystal clear: help people get out into their community and make the most of their time at home

You won't be invisible here. The team actively listens to staff feedback, celebrates long service, and rewards people who go the extra mile with vouchers and recognition. There's a real culture of 'we're in this together', backed up by trained mental health first aiders on staff and an Employee Assistance Programme so you've got genuine support when you need it

And the training? This isn't tick-box stuff. The service runs its own qualification centre and actively funds staff through Health and Social Care apprenticeships (Level 3) on an earn-whilst-you-learn basis. They invest in developing their own talent because they know that's how you build a brilliant team. Career progression isn't a dream here - it's a real pathway

What you will be doing

  • Provide practical and emotional support to empower young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, always respecting their individuality and right to make their own choices
  • Facilitate social, educational and work activities - visiting family and friends, supported employment, walks, shopping, recreational activities - whatever matters to each person
  • Promote health and wellbeing across physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs in an inclusive way, following individual support plans
  • Handle general housekeeping duties including shopping and domestic tasks, plus elements of personal care support where needed
  • Complete records and documents accurately as required by the role

Why you will love working here

  • Funded training and development: apprenticeships in Health and Social Care (Level 3) on an earn-whilst-you-learn basis, plus access to the service's own qualification centre
  • Real recognition: refer a friend and earn £400 per successful hire, plus vouchers and surprises when you go the extra mile or contribute to good inspection feedback
  • Your wellbeing matters: trained mental health first aiders on staff, free 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme for counselling and support, and an employee benefits app with high street discounts
  • Practical perks: salary sacrifice pension scheme with auto-enrolment, life cover with death in service benefit, and a cycle-to-work scheme to save money and stay fit
