Most care jobs feel like you're going through the motions. But this isn't most care jobs. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to build real relationships with young people aged 5-17, work as part of a close-knit team that actually celebrates together, and wake up knowing that today you're going to make a difference that matters
Picture this: it's a Tuesday evening and you've organised a movie night. Three young people who arrived withdrawn and guarded are now laughing together on the sofa, feeling safe enough to just be themselves. That's what this role is. You're not processing paperwork in an office - you're in a 6-bedroom home in the quiet residential area of Barton Seagrave, creating genuine moments of connection, stability, and joy with young people who desperately need both
This home operates on five core principles: Potential, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity, and Empathy. Every single person in the team lives those values. You'll work alongside staff who genuinely support each other, celebrate wins together, and back each other up when things get challenging. Whether it's helping a young person through a tough moment, planning an outdoor adventure, or supporting them through daily routines and education, you're never doing this alone
You'll grow too. If you're completely new to care, that's fine - we'll fund your Level 3 Diploma and invest in your development. If you're already qualified, there are clear pathways forward. You'll work 42 hours a week (including evenings and weekends because that's when young people need us most), and you'll be part of a team that knows this work is hard and worthy, so they make sure it's also rewarding
What you will be doing
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people aged 5-17, helping them feel genuinely safe and valued in a home environment
- Support daily routines, education, and personal development - the everyday stuff that creates stability and real change
- Plan and lead activities - from movie nights and games to outdoor adventures - that build confidence, joy, and memories
- Work shifts including evenings and weekends, creating a nurturing, consistent presence when young people need it most
Why you will love working here
- Competitive pay: £29,374.80 unqualified or £29,920.80 qualified, with long service awards as you build your career
- Funded Level 3 Diploma - we invest in your development, not just your labour
- Real benefits: pension, life cover including death in service benefit, cycle to work scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, and trained mental health first aiders in the team
- A close-knit team that celebrates wins, supports each other genuinely, and makes this work feel purposeful - plus monthly staff prize draws and a refer-a-friend scheme (earn £400 per successful referral)
Is this you?
- Are you kind, patient, and genuinely driven to make a difference? That matters more than experience
- Can you stay calm under pressure, support young people through challenges, and bring energy and humour into difficult moments?
- Are you a strong communicator who builds real relationships - and equally comfortable working independently when needed?
- Are you willing to complete your Level 3 Diploma and stay open to learning throughout your career?
- Can you be flexible, resilient, and ready to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and occasionally overnight?
