Most care jobs feel like you're just going through the motions, following a checklist while the real human stuff gets lost. We're looking for someone who actually cares about helping people build better lives - someone who sees the potential in every person they work with and knows that showing up every day, consistently and with genuine warmth, is what changes everything
Imagine coming to work knowing you're not just managing tasks, but genuinely helping someone move closer to independence. You'll work in a supported living setting where the people you support are building real lives in their community - and your role is to help them get there. Whether it's helping someone gain confidence with personal care, supporting them through a tough day emotionally, or celebrating when they hit a goal they've been working towards, you'll see the direct impact of your presence
This is a team that gets it. You won't be isolated or unsupported; you'll work closely with other healthcare professionals, family members, and colleagues who all share the same mission. The home has genuine commitment to helping their residents thrive, which means you'll have time to do the work properly, to listen, to advocate, and to build real relationships rather than rushing through a production line
You'll grow here too. This isn't a stepping stone job - it's a career where your experience, your instincts, and your ability to read people matter. You'll handle health monitoring, medication support, activity planning, record-keeping, and genuine advocacy work. Every shift teaches you more about what good support actually looks like
What you will be doing
- Provide personal care support with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility - meeting people where they are and building their confidence and independence
- Be the emotional anchor: offer a genuine listening ear, help clients manage stress and anxiety, and support their mental wellbeing day to day
- Support health-related tasks including medication management, helping with appointments, and monitoring physical wellbeing so nothing gets missed
- Help with the practical stuff that makes a home feel like a home: meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and keeping the environment safe and clean
- Encourage and support social and recreational activities that help residents connect with their community and grow as people
- Act as a true advocate, making sure residents' rights are respected and they get access to the services and opportunities they deserve
- Keep thorough, accurate records of progress, needs, concerns and incidents so the whole team stays in the picture
Why you will love working here
- Work in a supported living setting where you're actually supporting real independence and community inclusion, not just managing a building
- Be part of a collaborative team that respects what you do and supports you in doing it well
- Develop real skills in health monitoring, medication support, advocacy, and genuine person-centred care that will stay with you throughout your career
- Make a measurable, visible difference in people's lives every single day - the kind of work that matters
Is this you?
- You're a genuine person with real compassion - not the kind you perform in interviews, but the kind that shows up when things are hard and someone needs you
- You're reliable and show up consistently; people in care work need to know they can depend on you
- You have experience supporting people with physical, mental, or emotional needs (whether formal or informal background), and you're comfortable with personal care tasks
- You're comfortable working in a team with other professionals and genuinely want to collaborate to do right by the people you support
- You're organised and can keep clear records without it feeling like bureaucracy; you understand documentation protects both residents and the team
- You're willing to learn and grow - care is a skill, and the best support workers never stop improving
