Most care jobs promise meaning but deliver exhaustion and low pay. This one is different: full-time, part-time or flexible shifts at £16-£20 per hour, working with young people who genuinely need you to show up as your best self. If you've got the experience, the patience and the heart to help troubled kids rebuild their lives, we need to talk

You'll be working alongside young people facing real challenges: autism, ADHD, trauma, self-injury, difficult behaviour. These aren't easy placements, but they're the ones that matter most. You'll provide the practical support they need daily - personal care, medication, structure - but more than that, you'll be the steady adult who helps them believe they can change

The home values flexibility because it knows real life isn't 9-to-5. Whether you work full-time shifts, pick up part-time hours, or need a flexible rota, there's room for you here. That matters because you can't give your best to troubled young people if your own life is falling apart

Your team gets it. They've been where you are: working with young people who've experienced abuse, neglect and chaos. That shared understanding creates a workplace where you're not judged for the hard days, where you learn from each other, and where the wins - a kid staying calm, attending school, asking for help instead of hurting themselves - actually feel real

What you will be doing

  • Provide personal care and daily living support tailored to each young person's specific needs and development plan
  • Manage medication administration, health monitoring and coordinate with external health services
  • Support young people through emotional and behavioural challenges with patience, clarity and consistency
  • Build relationships with families, keep them informed and work as part of a wider care network
  • Engage young people in social activities, education support and work towards their personal goals

Why you will love working here

  • Pay of £16-£20 per hour depending on your experience and qualifications
  • Choice of full-time, part-time or flexible shift patterns to fit your life
  • Work with a team that actually understands the difficulty of this labour and respects it
  • Real training and support to develop your skills with young people who have complex trauma, behaviour and mental health needs

Is this you?

  • You've worked in care or support before - ideally with children or young people with complex needs
  • You hold Level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent (or you're willing to work towards it)
  • You can stay calm when a young person is aggressive, self-harming or in crisis
  • You've got an Enhanced DBS check already, or you're happy to apply for one
  • You can provide references covering the last three years
