Most care jobs feel like you're fighting the system to help the young people who need you most. Long shifts, skeleton staffing, nowhere to grow. This role is different: you'll work in a well-supported residential setting where your skill and care actually change lives, and where the organisation invests in you

Picture yourself arriving at a home where the team knows you're coming, where handovers are proper conversations not rushed chaos, and where the young people recognise you as someone who gets them. You're not just managing behaviour or ticking boxes - you're building real relationships, spotting the small wins that matter, and being part of the reason a young person starts to trust adults again

The service values residential care workers who show up consistently and care deeply. You'll be part of a team that understands what this work demands, where colleagues back each other up and where there's genuine appetite to help you develop. Training isn't a box-ticking exercise; it's built into the rhythm of the job because they know better staff means better outcomes for the young people

This is the kind of role where you can see your impact. Whether you're new to care or you've been doing this for years, you'll find room to grow into your best self - because the organisation genuinely believes that's how you get the best service for the young people in your care

What you will be doing

  • Provide day-to-day residential care and support to young people in the home, helping them with practical tasks, routines and emotional needs
  • Build trusted relationships with the young people, being consistent, predictable and responsive to their individual circumstances and triggers
  • Work as part of a wider team to implement behaviour support plans, safeguarding procedures and care plans that meet each young person's needs
  • Keep clear, timely records and communicate handover information so every shift builds on the last one

  • Work close to home in Lancashire - no long commute eating into your life
  • Flexible work options: full-time, part-time or temporary shifts that genuinely fit around your circumstances
  • Join a service that invests in training and development for its staff, not just the young people
  • Competitive hourly pay that reflects the real skill and emotional labour of this work

  • Can you stay calm under pressure, think clearly and ask for help when you need it?
  • Are you reliable, willing to learn, and able to work the shift pattern this role requires (including waking nights or sleep-in shifts as needed)?
