Most care jobs feel like you're fighting the system. This one? You're fighting for the child. We're looking for an experienced Support Worker who knows that autism and learning disabilities aren't barriers to thriving, they're just part of who these young people are, and you're the adult who helps them believe in themselves
Picture this: you're the person a young person runs to tell about their first successful community trip. You're the one who figures out a new way to help them communicate what matters. You're the trusted adult in a home that actually feels like a home, not an institution, where every child is treated as an individual with their own dreams and pace. That's the daily reality here
This is a family-run service, been going since 2011, built on the idea that specialist residential care for children with autism and learning disabilities should centre on the child, not the paperwork. You'll be part of a close-knit team that genuinely supports each other because they genuinely care. No one's burning out here because everyone knows why they showed up
You'll work 37.5 hours across five days, including weekends, which means rhythm and routine. Full-time means you're invested, you're building relationships that actually matter. And the training? Fully funded and specialist. You'll grow here, not just clock in
What you will be doing
- Help create a safe, nurturing and structured home where children develop independence, confidence and real life skills
- Support personal care where needed, always treating it as part of building dignity and trust, not a task
- Help young people access education, hobbies and new experiences that open up their world
- Be the person children can rely on: the consistent, patient, thoughtful adult who shows them they matter
Why you will love working here
- £13.65 to £14.20 per hour plus paid overtime so your earnings actually reflect your commitment
- 28 days annual leave rising to 30 after five years, because burnout helps no one
- Health Cash Plan, free 24/7 confidential counselling and wellbeing support, because we look after our team too
- Fully funded specialist training and genuine career progression, so you're not stuck in the same role in five years
- Generous loyalty bonus scheme and a travel loan for commuting, because we value people who stay and invest
Is this you?
- You've got at least a year's solid experience as a Support Worker in residential childcare, and you know what good looks like
- You have genuine passion for improving children's lives, not just interest in the role title
- Experience with autism or complex needs is something you bring to the table
- You're ready to lead by example and believe every child deserves to thrive, even when progress is small and slow
