Most care jobs feel like you're just clocking in and getting through the shift. But this isn't most care jobs. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to create a family environment for young people in residential therapeutic homes - places where kids actually feel safe enough to grow, where your work gets noticed, and where the team around you stays loyal because they actually like being there

Picture this: you arrive at one of our large family detached homes, and within minutes you're helping a young person prepare a meal, sitting with them while they talk about their day, or encouraging them to join in an activity they're nervous about. That's the everyday reality here. You're not a number in a big institution - you're part of a stable, experienced staff team that genuinely cares, and your presence makes a real difference to whether these young people feel at home or just institutionalised

What makes this different is how much we invest back into you. You get a full induction and training package, mandatory training every year, and - this is the kicker - we fund your Level 4 Diploma in health and social care. We're not gatekeeping the best development opportunities. You also get access to clinical counselling and guidance for yourself, because this work is real and sometimes heavy, and we believe your wellbeing matters. That's how a growing, successful organisation treats people it actually wants to keep

Our homes are Ofsted rated as outstanding and good. Social workers, youth offending workers and families consistently comment on how professional, non-judgmental and respectful the staff are. Young people themselves say things like 'it's fun here and it's feeling more like a home' and 'there are lots to do'. That doesn't happen by accident - it happens because we've built something genuinely different, and we're promoting from within because the best people stay when they feel valued

What you will be doing

  • Create a friendly, relaxed environment that encourages young people's self-esteem, self-motivation and respect for themselves and others
  • Be an active part of the home's day-to-day life: support young people with meals, activities, homework and the small moments that build trust
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and assist with the home's administration
  • Work with young people and prospective carers to support successful transitions and integration into family or other residential placements
  • Uphold the home's reputation in all contact with external agencies, social workers and families

Why you will love working here

  • £11.00 to £11.50 per hour (depending on qualifications), plus £50 per sleep-in allowance on top - and all your daily meals are provided
  • Part-time hours that work with your life, with flexibility to pick up bank shifts or move to full-time as you grow into the role
  • We fund your Level 4 Diploma - we're not just asking you to do the job, we're investing in your actual career progression
  • Work in homes rated outstanding and good by Ofsted, with an experienced, loyal staff team that creates a genuine family environment
  • Clinical counselling and guidance available to you, because we know this work matters and so do you

Is this you?

  • Is this you: someone with paid experience in a residential childcare setting, or a Level 3 NVQ in health and social care (though genuine experience in similar environments can work too)
  • You've got a full manual driving licence and you're willing to get DBS clearance (we can help process it if you need it)
  • Your passion for working with young people comes first - that's not a box to tick, it's the real reason you're reading this
  • You're reliable, professional, non-judgmental and you actually want to be part of a real team rather than just doing the hours
