Picture your week: you're working long shifts from 8am to 11pm, including sleep nights, which means you're part of a small, consistent team that the young people actually know and trust. That continuity matters. When a child has experienced trauma, having the same caring adult showing up, day after day, is how real change happens. You're not just managing behaviour - you're helping them process it, build resilience, and start to believe things can be different
Your days are a mix of genuine care and real life. You're supporting young people through their routines, yes, but you're also taking them to the cinema, to swimming, to sports - activities chosen because they matter to each individual child, not because they tick a box. You see them light up. You hear them laugh. You notice the small shifts that show they're beginning to trust again

What you will be doing
- Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed residential care to young people in crisis, supporting them through their daily routines and emotional needs with patience and consistency
- Work long shifts (8am-11pm) including regular sleep nights, which means you're present during the crucial times when young people often need support most
- Plan and facilitate recreational activities tailored to each child's interests - cinema trips, swimming, sports and more - that help them build confidence and experience joy
- Maintain detailed records, communicate with the wider team, and contribute to a culture where every young person feels equally valued and heard
