Most care jobs feel transactional: clock in, follow the sheet, clock out. This isn't one of them. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to help people live independently and with dignity, supporting a diverse group across our Island services - from older adults to people with learning disabilities, autism and complex mental health needs. If you're the kind of person who sees care work as a calling, not just a job, keep reading

You'll be at the heart of real change. Every shift, you're helping someone achieve their goals, stay active in their community, and feel safe enough to be themselves. The residents and individuals you support aren't cases to manage; they're people with their own dreams and challenges. Your role is to make sure they have the practical and emotional support to live as independently as possible, with choice and dignity at the centre of everything you do

This isn't solo work in the dark. You're part of a supportive team that genuinely backs each other up. You'll work across our supported housing schemes and extra care services - sometimes in people's homes, sometimes in our schemes in Freshwater, Ryde and the Bay area. Yes, there's flexibility required (evenings, weekends, sleep-in duties, on-call rota), but that flexibility means you're truly responsive to people's real needs, not just shift patterns

You'll grow fast here. No experience needed - we'll give you full training and support you to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Care. But growth isn't just about qualifications. It's about developing confidence in emergency situations, building your understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support, and becoming part of a culture where inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice aren't buzzwords - they're lived every day

What you will be doing

  • Deliver personalised care and support in line with individual care plans, helping people maintain independence and make their own choices
  • Support people across our services - in their homes, supported housing schemes and extra care settings across the Island (Ryde, Freshwater, Bay area and beyond)
  • Undertake moving and handling tasks safely and confidently, and respond calmly and professionally when things get tricky
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the people you support, staying alert to their wellbeing and any safeguarding concerns
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using basic IT systems, and work as part of a cohesive team keeping communication flowing

Why you will love working here

  • Permanent, full-time role on 35 hours per week at £24,479 per annum
  • Comprehensive benefits: pension, life assurance, healthcare cash plan, eyecare & dental, birthday leave, retailers discounts, cycle to work scheme, buy and sell annual leave, and season ticket loan
  • Full training and support to develop your skills and work towards NVQ Level 2 in Care, plus access to an in-house academy for ongoing career development
  • Flexible working arrangements and a genuinely inclusive workplace where you're valued for who you are and encouraged to bring your whole self to work
  • The chance to make a real, daily difference to people's lives in a role that matters

Is this you?

  • You're compassionate and patient, with a genuine commitment to helping people live better lives
  • You have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • You're comfortable with flexibility - evenings, weekends, sleep-in duties and on-call rotas don't faze you
  • You understand safeguarding responsibilities and can follow procedures confidently; you stay calm under pressure
  • You have the physical ability to undertake moving and handling tasks
  • You're willing to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Care - no prior care experience needed, just the willingness to learn and grow
